I had it 98-86 Cox,the MC read it out as 98-76 but I assume the ref had it same as mine,it was an absolute shambles of a fight, about 5 point deductions between them,Rios was at the capers too but I can't understand why Jamie came out in the 1st round boaring in with the head, fair enough if Rios's rough tactics dragged him into a brawl but Cox seemed to instigate the fouls,he clearly hasn't learned from the Sai fight which was years ago,he's a solid boxer with great power but his temperament will hold him back

Cox was very lucky not to have been thrown out yesterday.

96-90 Cox
Cox should have been chucked out.

This is all I've seen of the fight.
Whilst I am aware Rios did his fair share Cox should have been thrown out. No doubt he would have if he wasn't the home fighter.

The obviously intentional butt at 1:04 of the clip merits a DQ on its own.

It would do if Rios hadn't bitten him 5 seconds earlier, which that clip conveniently cuts out.

He was using the head 20 seconds into the fight and really threw himself into the one at 1:10 too....I guess it's not just the low blows his opponents have to be careful of now.

What is wrong with him?

One of the most embarrassing fights I've ever witnessed.
Cox use of the head was shocking. Rios had a bite at Cox. Cox should of been disqualified in the first two rounds and Rios should of been banned after the bite.

Why should Rios be punished more than Cox?
Cox is a pile of garbage.

Haven't seen the fight yet. Was Cox using his head because he was struggling (like Bradley Saunders) or just because he's a bellend?

He was using the head 20 seconds into the fight and won pretty much every round, so I'd go with bellend.

He's a bully and when people don't succumb like they usually have been he'll resort to any method.

Cox should of been kicked out first but Rios tried to bite him which is completely unacceptable.

Cox should have been disqualified, no question at all. How many 'final' warnings did he have?

What a nut job (pun intended). It's as if he was trying to be DQd! Awful refereeing! Surely Cox and the ref should be up in front of the board after that nonsense?

Biting is no worse than headbutting.

That's disgusting. I didn't see the fight live and thought this thread might be boxrec overreacting as it does occasionally. But that's disgusting. The more I learn about that bloke, the more he comes across vile tbh

that's really the reaction from Cox's trainer? If you don't like headbutts watch ballet!
Nice to see Team Cox values boxing fans

Or we could just watch fighter's with enough class and talent not to have to resort to cheating.
I could name loads of domestics that would batter cox at SM. I'd fancy martin Murray to destroy him and he's past his best. Rocky fielding does him as well.

Shame I actually quite like Jamie Cox (although think he's still pretty untested at SMW) and have been to a couple of his fights, but that kind of attitude of 'doesn't matter what the fans think' really does my head in. People are rightfully quick to point out fans shouldn't be having a pop at boxers online etc as they are the ones getting in the ring. Yes where its silly insults I agree but fans are more than entitled to their opinions. After all we are the people that ultimately pay fighters and trainers etc wages through buying tickets paying for ppv's, subscriptions etc.

Cox is coming across as a one-dimensional brawler with suspect temperament, and has definitely found his level at SM.
I like the fact he`s on a seek and destroy mission, but when that one approach doesn`t work there`s no plan B.
I still can`t get my head around him at SM,all of the top British SM`s would be far too sturdy for him.

Or maybe you guys could start up on the blue collar circuit or UFC?
All kidding aside, was there something wrong before the fight? I don't understand why a fighter would do this kind of thing numerous times? Once or twice yeah I get that but it looked like he was trying to get DQd or was it just frustration boiling over?
At the end of the day if the referee had done his job properly and DQd Jamie it would've been the paying fans out of pocket.

I agree fighters shouldn't have to put up with silly insults, but its well justified criticism in this case. If your fighter has to resort to those tactics, there's obv a problem. I can't stand that old skool boxing attitude that if you aren't "in the industry" you don't know anything, and anyway you don't have to be a boxing genius to recognise BLATANT cheating. Ultimately if they don't care what fans think, don't cry when you can't snare big fights and are performing for peanut's in front of empty halls.
