I know he's a future HOF'er, I have seen many highlights of his fights, I know he is a great fighter and has been going for 20+ years..
I watched Hopkins-Jones II last year, and I realized, he does b***hy stuff in the ring.. Overacting, low blows, head butting, rabbit punching, faking injury etc .
Then I came across this..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH053p5IQg0
He can be quite controversial..
Thoughts?

It ain't cheating if the ref don't see it. He's never been disqualified.

He's has done infront of the ref, but acted innocent in doing so. Or like when the ref somehow 'managed' to push him outta the ring

You ever see Ric Flair admit that he was the using the ropes for leverage when the referee asked him?

How he's gotten away with it each time baffles me..

Tactics never worked. Nor did they work vs. Calzaghe

True also Bob wants us to do a bit of the work ourselves.

Every fighter at the level Bhop has constantly performed has bent the rules one way or the other. Klitschko, Lewis, Holyfield the list can go on and on. Its the fight game, its survival and Bhop has proved over time he has been one of the greatest.

He's been at it for years. Some call it clever. I call it fuckin irritating to watch at times. One of the greats no doubt and I have big respect for the guy but these kind of antics are frustrating. Says a lot for his experience that he's never been DQd but the fly old fúcker

Im not sure who your favorite fighters are, but I dare guess most have traits outside the rules some time or another.

Of course yeah. Most do it but Hopkins does it excessively in almost every fight. I've been watching him since I was a kid and he's always done it. Personally I find it frustrating to watch.
Hopkins is a hard watch a lot of the time in my opinion but I suppose it depends on what you like. To be fair he's had some excellent performances. I enjoyed watching him dismantle Pavlik when he was underdog. He was more or less punch perfect that night.

Hopkins is an Angel compared to Fritzie Zivic, the dirtiest boxer ever. I also believe in the saying....."If you aren't cheating you aren't trying hard enough."
