South Australian Tourism Minister Leon Bignell has told ABC radio the rematch between Anthony Mundine and Danny Green will be held at Adelaide Oval next year.

All the outlets seem to be running with this. Press conference this morning apparently.

This circus would be a suitable inclusion in Adelaide's Fringe Festival next February/March.

Don't think it will be as big as the first fight.

Doubt Mundine will pass MRI, which is required in SA as will all imports on the card, which they'll need as there's only handful of SA registered boxers.

The press conference is in progress in Adelaide. There is a live cross to it on Australian Boxing Central.

The important stuff is the date has been confirmed as February 3rd and the weight at 83kg.

I just hope Adelaide can guarantee they will have power on February 3rd.

If you go to Adelaide, go up to the Barossa and go wine tasting as well. That way, at least you'll leave with a decent taste in your mouth.

Im excited for it. The SA government has taken the risk and good on them. Hopefully this promotion can get the cream of the young aussie talent on it such as Nathaniel May, Renold Qunilan etc.
Ticket prices are ok so I can see myself making the trip. Remember most of the time its not the two best fighters who put on the most entertaining bouts and I believe this one may be more entertaining than the first. At 83kg it all depends on Chocs hips.

I'm not real excited about the fight, but the 3 boys that I went with to watch their first fight asked if I'm up for a reunion. Looks like I'll be heading to Adelaide.

So am I. Hoping I get there in time, and maybe do a bit of timekeeping........albeit haven't done any since Dec 2000

Whatever you do, don't book airfares & accommodation 'cos it's extremely unlikely the fight will happen in Adelaide. Being former Croweater I contacted a couple of local politicians that I know & was told today''s press conference nothing more than publicity stunt. No way is government going to finance as much as a cent toward it. They simply used Minister of Tourism, Sport & Rec & what not, to grab national media, who only smiled throughout the shindig, which all low-key State politicians are prepared to do to get bit of national publicity.

Bottom line :- Minister & Adelaide oval management welcome the fight.......but that's about it
