I am becoming a bit concerned about Danny's future with all that appears to be going on. There could be lengthy and protracted legal battles coming up between Webb and Warren by the looks of it, which could prevent him fighting if Warren wins an injunction, this is disastrous.

Also hearing that Danny is going to be doing the talk show circuit worries me. At the end of the day Webb is just looking at Danny as a cash cow, and Danny needs to remember the people that have gotten him to this point and listen to them, not some shylock who is in it for the fast buck.

Quite right I think in this case he should stick with who he knows, I have to say no-one has given any props to FW on this one, it was a good match in my view, a big name ready for the taking, propelling Danny to a "household" name and get him a shot at the big prize. Think once more we should give credit where it is due.

Danny is quite treacherous when it comes to managers and promoters - and we all know how many trainers he's been through. Danny dropped the BBC for Sports Network in quite an underhanded manner late last year - just decided to pull out of a BBC-televised fight with Germany's Ralf Packheiser a few days beforehand (it was the second time Packheiser had been let down by Danny). If my memory serves me correctly, Danny accused Packheiser of being on steroids as the reason for pulling out. Then he re-signed with SN. I thought that was naughty.

Yes, he's hardly been a bastion of loyalty over the years, and we all saw just how much benefit he got out of constantly changing trainers/managers/promoters.

Oh dear, despite Danny's contention that he was going to keep his feet on the ground, I am getting an inkling of anything but.

hmmm, Danny has always been extremely humble..... but he makes trainer and promoter decisions on what he thinks is best for him which is fair enough as you only have a short career as a professional boxer.

The beeb got him a euro shot and that didnt work, he could see that there wasnt much happening if he stayed with the beeb do went back to Warren.

I think Jimmy Mac will help him make the right decisions

That's what I am hoping, I just hope that Danny doesn't throw out the baby out with the bathwater in an attempt to capitalise.

Yes, and the Herbie Hide fight falling through obviously didn't help his relationship with the BBC. I think part of the reason for Danny's poor performances in the past is sheer apathy. He's a very laid back, easy-going individual, who left Jimmy Tibbs because he didn't like the discipline and the long drive to east London from his Peckham home. That proved a mistake for a while. Danny needs discipline. He needs to be scared into training really hard. I think Tyson scared him, and Jimmy Mac was clever in keeping Danny in the States after the June 29 Louisville press conference. But Jimmy Mac and Danny are great mates. I still think Danny would slip back into bad habits in training if he was due to face someone who didn't scare him.

Jimmy has been there with Danny through good and bad. Danny knows that Jimmy understands his mind-frame and this was proved in the Tyson fight. Jimmy meditated with him, talked with him and got him into the mind-set for a big fight. This was absolutely crucial, as Danny's mental state can often mean the difference between a win and a loss for him.

Personally, I think that Jimmy should be his manager. That way he can really keep tabs on him.

Well, Danny said he wouldn't become a Big Time Charlie so lets hope he does, but I will say this.

I'm not totally sold on this Danny mentality thing. I think it's down to the focus on his preparation. I've seen Danny in the gym and he trains very hard, but I bet he's never been hidden away for five weeks in training camp before with the sparring he had and with such an intense preparation period.

I bet he's never prepared for a fight like that before, away from his family, home comforts, with the responsibilities of family life getting in the way of preparations and not having to hike across London the the gym every day.

Plus, the same goes for Jimmy Mac, who also had all the time in the world to get Danny ready, with no 'private' customers to train and could focus solely on getting his fighter ready.

Like they say, if you don't prepare to succeed, then prepare yourself to fail.
