Scott Quigg featherweight 'title eliminator'

I looked at the rankings and saw that Warrington is ranked top five with IBF and WBC, is it likely Quigg will fight someone in the lower end of the rankings with a view to setting up an all British final eliminator next year?
Also, oddly enough I noticed Ben Jones ranked very high with the WBO, would this be an option? It would be a mismatch but at least a British lad would be getting a payday.
Anyone heard any rumours as to who it may be?

Don't know but Warrington quigg is a fight I want to see.. May even venture up north for that, not sure I would brave Leeds though

Ben jones is fighting this weekend so would be a quick turn around if it was him.

I'm not expecting anyone I've even heard of to be fighting Quigg here. It'll be some kid from deepest darkest Nicaragua whose never seen a toilet flush before..... Yawn!

Indeed this will likely be the case, but I feel this card is one or two decent fights away from being a good show and having Quigg fight a decent opponent would help massively in that regard.

Indeed this will likely be the case, but I feel this card is one or two decent fights away from being a good show and having Quigg fight a decent opponent would help massively in that regard.
If it were a regular Sky Sports card then they'd be getting deserved credit but the fact they're passing this off as PPV is an affrontity to the proper boxing fans.
Agree though a decent opponent for Quigg would help bulk up the card but who is gonna be available at this notice who's halfway decent? It'll be another Jamoye/Munyai job I reckon.

He's gotta be one of the worst boxers (competing at fringe world level in regards to rankings) I think I've ever seen. His boxing IQ is pretty much non existent. He's got hardly any power and he just looks so incredibly basic it's unreal.

Quigg said he would come straight back in to a world title fight so I'm expecting him to finally get in the ring with Rigondeaux and with the master tactician "Dog Pound Joe" in his corner how can he lose.

Can't see Warrington v Quigg for a few reasons.
Hearn rarely does in house fights at a higher level unless on PPV.
Can you imagine Warrington fighting at the manchester arena now. Thousands of Leeds fans would go and wreck the place he would also have more support than Quigg.
Quiggs support isn't too bad and a few would go to Leeds which again would probably have trouble there.
Also Gallaghers main tactic as a trainer is to hold back and let the opponent tire. That would be completely redundant against Warrington who does 12 rounds with ease and has a very good engine.
With modern boxing I expect them to get in a mandatory shot starting with an Argie probably from the super bantam weight for ABC International/continental belt on Dec 10th
No way will he be in with any of the current champions at featherweight anytime soon.

Bit in bold there mate, I was at the Arena when Warrington fought Rendall Munroe on the night of Crolla v Murray and Quigg v Munyai. It was carnage then, when Warrington was still a relative unknown.
Still provided one of my favourite boxing riot moments when some Leeds tw-t tried to throw a chair, only to realise on the floor rows of chairs were joined together so he just tipped it over, jumped about like he'd actually done something, before being promptly arrested.

Don't know why th moaning and negativity about Quigg v Warrington. Doubt Hearn would risktwo of hisfavourites versus each other. And would think Warrington, a fighter I really like, but still learning his game, would be tailor madeforQuigg.
Quigg would be under pressure but would not have to go looking for Josh and would likely hammer out victory in a brutally exciting fight. It's a fight to bring out the best in Quigg.

Warrington I'd think willbe kept in Leeds

warrington's a super fit and dedicated lad. However his stamina isn't as good in a genuine fight, as seen in the excellent battle with Amagasa. Unless he's learned and hardened from this, but his next fight was a step down in class rather than taking the expected next step, Selby.

Mate their is nothing wrong with Warrington stamina. I've seen him do 10nrounds at a hard pace in a toe to toe war. He just struggled abut with amagasa style and admitted he switched off abit in the middle rounds.

Warrington beats Quigg on points.. By 2-3 rounds.
It probably won't happen as a loss for quigg would hurt his prosperity, a loss for Warrington would not do him any harm but he won't lose that fight.
If quigg believes he wins then the fight will happen as it's the best money for him on offer for next 12 months.

Easily, Quigg is fringe world level IMO bit still above Warrington.
