Tim had 33 amateur fights for only the one loss. He has an uncanny resemblance to his father Kostya, but is significantly taller and about 10 kilograms heavier. Tim will debut at junior middleweight.

Do you know if he has international experience? I assume that at 32-1 he would've had the opportunity to compete in internationally. Did he not attempt to qualify for the Olympics?
It will be interesting to see how far he goes.

Don't know the answer to that. I do know his only loss was to Olympian Daniel Lewis.
Tim runs the Kostya Tszyu Boxing Academy in Rockdale. He had a bad wrist injury that set him back for a while.
Tim's younger bother Nikita is a 4 time national champion at junior level.

Very nice! It's not gonna be easy living up to his/father's name.

It will be downright difficult. But comparisons have been drawn throughout his 33 fight amateur career and he has managed to get through that. No doubt the blow torch will be turned up significantly now though with his pro debut.

Why isn't this card on Boxrec? Any chance of Lucas Browne being added to it?

Tim?!!? Strange choice of name, sounds like a homosexual Tory politician!
But joking aside, I look forward to his fights. And you know you're getting old when all the boxers you liked in your youth sons are boxing!!!

His birth name is Timophey. Tim is the anglicized shortening of it.

There's little point spending too much of your life in the amateurs if it is thought you have strong pro pedigree.
(and yes I'm aware his dad had an extensive and highly successful amateur career)

Look forward to it. I like a well known fighter's son (daughter) to do well; there's a lot of pressure

Tim Tszyu made it 3 from 3 when he stopped Ben Nelson 2-3 in round 3 in Sydney last night.
Tim is scheduled to box on the undercard of the Joseph Parker vs Hughie Fury fight in NZ on May 6.
