How GGG would do @ 168 for the first time ? He would need 1-2 easy fights @ 168 to accommodate with the weight first ?

Yes, those fights are definitely easier to make, as top SMWs and their handlers think that they have a chance, while Canelo, Jacobs and BJS know that they will get badly beaten.

I think Golovkin will not have serious problems against current top SMWs. LHW is a totally different story.

As for Canelo, he will get paid 5 times what he would against a Degale or Jack. Why wouldn't he?

Agree, I just say this in case he doesn't get a meaningful fight @160 in 2017, to fight a top smw like Degale/Jack or Ramirez then comeback @ 160 if one of the top mw names are willing to sign the contract and fight him. HBO won't accept low calibre fights forever.

Yes but so far neither Jacobs or BJS weren't satisfied with K2's offer. GGG's got screwed everytime when his promoter wanted to negotiate a big fight for him ( BJS, CEJ and Jacobs were overpricing themselves out and Canelo just lowballed him), all these tactics to not get in the ring with him.
So I think if GGG gets screwed again in 2017 by BJS,Jacobs and Canelo I think HBO would say to him to look at north for some bigger fights.

If we start leaving fights and paydays in the past, fighters/promoters would have more incentive to make fights while they are hot.

If you're compelled to only recognise the Golovkin narrative then that's your prerogative, but personally-speaking, I prefer to adopt an objective stance on things.

In my mind, it's an absurd notion to wholeheartedly believe that Team GGG is a completely innocent and an angelic party, with everyone else involved in the sport being cowardly, greedy and unscrupulous.

I'm not accusing you of personally adopting such a narrow-mindest, but I am attacking hardcore GGG fans (in general) that think that way.

They want big money, the problem is they don't bring so much to the table. Realistically speaking Golovkin has 3 major belts and he sells out arenas. BJS and Jacobs are no better and bigger draws than Lemieux or Murray (when they fought GGG).

That's the way GGG should go Move up and make some good money before he's too old that's what these littler guy's are waiting for so he might as well chase the bigger fish that will be willing to go swimming with him

Ramirez is a very nice fight for GGG and winnable imo.

You may have right since Jack and DeGale are both Haymon's fighters. Gilberto Ramirez vs GGG is a good fight, especially if Ramirez would fight and beat a name like Chavez Jr.

I doubt they will be any easier. If haymon is being this difficult with Jacobs I don't see how he will be any easier to work with as far as jack or degale.

I know arum has said he is ok with Ramirez fighting him, but I really have a tough time believing that. I think GGG would stop him brutally and arum will want to protect a potential cash cow.
