Just doing some research. Does anyone know why he had fought 8 times of 11 away from home across Europe? Has he had licencing problems?

Hyde is his manage or was, Hyde's fighters, fight all over the place, he has a lot of connections, this and maybe that Heffron does not sell a lot of tickets. He seems like a very good fighter, shame that he has not had the opportunities yet. On this forum Jamie Cox has been mentioned has an opponent, maybe that is the type of fight Heffron needs, to raise his profile.

Good point. I think it's a fight both him and Cox need to be fair.

I may be way off the mark here (no pun intended) but wasn't it due to him not getting licenced by BBBoC (failed medical)???

Not failed medical, the BBBoC wouldn't give Gary a managers licence as he hadn't 3 years totted up holding another type of BBBoC licence, so Gary had him fighting around Europe until it was resolved.

One of the BBBoC's more stupid rules really. You can pass a spit bucket up for three years and be deemed ready to manage a BBBoC boxer but you cant get a BBBoC managers licence if you have been managing for over 20 years on a BUI licence (or other recognised EBU affiliate)

Wasn't Mark due to fight Buglioni at some point in the not too distant past or did I imagine that? Like, before Burton/Buglioni.

Yes, you are right both need a real fight, to make a big statement.

I knew there was some sort of BBBoC issue. Was so long ago (don't know where I got the medical thing from!)

He fought on their card last weekend (and won) and is back out on their next card on December 15th I believe, which is a nice Thursday night out. All v TBAs, but good prospects in action.

Be good to start seeing him on sky or BN he's probably the most exciting prospect in the country

BN were supposed to have a deal with Black Flash to show some of their shows but nothing's really happened other than Zelfa Barrett has been on a few BN shows.

Though if anyone at BF feels free to correct me, by all means do.

Another meaningless win for Heffron last night but he steps up in 3 weeks against Andrew Robinson 21-3-1 in what is probably the toughest test of his eight year career.

If he comes through that well I'd love to see him step up against domestic opposition. Langford, Welbourne, Arnfield or Cameron all decent British level fighters.

Or even the amazing Sam Soliman. Great test right there.

A decent test for Heffron is well overdue.

I’ve seen him a few times and been impressed but the reality is so far he has had a long run of poor quality opposition with nobody coming to win
.
I noticed last night he had changed his team yet again and no longer had Hatton in his corner.

Isn't Arnfield in a spot of bother?
