From a little I saw from both - Breazele looks a better boxer. His amateur record supports my opinion.

Charles recently got shot, I think he's not yet fully recovered from the bullet yet.

Can only assess against AJ.
Martin folded like a deck chair.
Breazeale gave him one of his toughest tests and at least made a brave effort
Given that, it should be fairly comfortable.
Maybe if Martin doesn't bottle it, it might be competitive

Breazeales durability decides this fight. I'd actually favour martins skills but would question if he's physically up to it

Where is "who cares" option?

Have not seen Martin's "skills" against remotely good so Breazale is for me and had a better showing vs Joshua.

I'd love to see this fight. I admire Breazeale for his heart and toughness, and I feel Martin is better than most give him credit for, and I'd like to see him prove it. I believe he has a speed advantage but I'd have to choose the man I know has a warrior's heart.
Neither of these guys are likely to seriously trouble the cream of the division but even allowing for that I really don't get those who wouldn't want to see it. It's a fascinating pairing between two well matched young giants that have both competed in title fights. It most definitely isn't a mismatch snoozefest like Povetkin v Rudenko or Wilder v ... insert name of any previous opponent here.
It's just a shame this is a what if, rather than a scheduled contest

Breazeale would win it easy... He'd keep the pressure on, absorb everything that Martin could throw and just out-punch and outwork him over 12.
They both need boxing coaches... If you look at all the professional and amateur fights they have (not that many) you see guys that should be green...but they should no longer be as unskilled as they are -- and they should be learning a lot faster... They look like guys who've been fighting for a year or less...
They actually have higher quality coaching in England now than in the United States... Though I think our #1 top coaches are still the best... But I think the latest and most modern training facilities in the world are now in the UK.

Both are sh*t. Breazeale has heart though, so I'd pick him to win.

Both are not sh*t. They are just a little short of top level. Both would beat most guys outside the best twenty heavyweights in the world and probably some inside too..
When you consider there are between one and two thousand guys plying their trade as full or part time professional heavyweight boxers, and that's just those who have fought recently enough to be considered active, then being in or around the best twenty in the division is very respectable in fact it's impressive.
Fighters of all levels can take part in interesting and entertaining fights, it just requires good matchmaking.

Well yeah -- if you look at it from that perspective... If you compared them to all 2000 "professional" Heavyweights in the world they're in the top 1%...
All that means is they're bigger, taller, stronger, probably more athletic, and have better backing than all the other ridiculously unskilled Heavyweights out there... After you knock out 20 or 30 of those guys your Heavyweight career isn't going to be any farther along than Duane Bobick's or David Price's were at one point.. Is that who you aspire to be? You can't even think about people who are ranked below you, or you shouldn't.
Trainers always tell you "Don't compare yourself to the worst, the fattest, the sloppiest, the laziest, and the most pathetic Heavyweights in the world so you can feel good about yourself.. Compare yourself to the best in the world so you feel very bad you can't match them yet" ... You should feel inspired, not smug.

Breazeale had a great comeback win last time out. He isn't that bad really. I think he would give Parker trouble, and probably Wilder until he gets caught.
Martin's arm is supposed to be fully healed now. Sure he was terrible against AJ, but it was the magnitude of the event as well as being pulverised by AJ's jab. See him when he came into the ring looking like a deer in the headlights.
Dominic would beat Prince Charles, but it might be quite competitive.

I agree Kalan you have to aim to be the best or you have no chance of getting there. I'm talking from the fans point of view. Only one person can be the best at a given time so there is no disgrace in coming up a little short.
As a guy who loves ale, curry, and sitting in my armchair watching boxing on tv, I have nothing but respect for anyone who has the discipline to abstain from life's comforts and put himself through a hard training regimen in order to excel in the fight game ... and I also respect Charles Martin

I agree with you KR. I think Martin is much better than he appeared against Joshua. The occasion got to him and Joshua certainly did. If it had been Wilder in the ring with Joshua and AJ had managed to land the right-hand counter shot flush on his chin as he did Martin, are we confident Wilder would have absorbed it any better than Martin did? Of course AJ probably wouldn't have found it so easy to nail Deontay, but if he did land like that it might very well have been game over just the same.
One thing I would disagree with, and that is when you said Breazeale would make it (a Wilder fight) competitive "until he gets caught". I consider Deontay to be the hardest single shot puncher in the division, but I'm not convinced DB could not withstand the kind of shot that finished Gerald Washington, although I'm a lot less confident about that since the Izu Ugonoh fight where Breazeale had to climb off the floor to win. Joshua couldn't knock out DB despite finding him quite easy to hit. What did for Breazeale was the persistent battering, the accumulation of punishment.
Wilder flails away when he has his man hurt and you can't knock his ability to finish a stricken opponent, but he doesn't throw combinations the way Joshua does, and for that reason might not find Breazeale in a situation where he can dispatch him. I think it would be a very hard fight for Deontay and I can imagine him coming close to being stopped himself until or unless he decides to forget about looking good and knocking the guy out, and settles instead for a safety-first box off the back foot points decision.
