Jessie Magdaleno defeated Nonito Donaire by a unanimous decision to take Donaire’s WBO junior featherweight title on the Jessie Vargas-Manny Pacquiao undercard Saturday in Las Vegas.

Donaire (37-4, 24 knockouts) stalked Magdaleno (24-0, 17 KOs) for most of the fight but it was the challenger who got his punches off first and with more regularity. That accounted for the scores: 116-112, 116-112 and 118-110, all for the new titleholder.

THE RING scored it 117-111 for Magdaleno.
I hear Dan Rafael scored it in favour of Donaire?

I watched, but I missed bits and pieces of some of the rounds so I didn't get to score it. I remember feeling it could've went either way as the scorecards were read. I'll give it another watch some time and see how I score it. Probably won't be anytime too soon, but I thought either of them getting a close decision was reasonable.

The 118-110 score was way off the mark. Nobody won this fight that clearly.

I had the impression that it was a close fight but I was not surprised victory for Magdaleno.

Come on.......... I was hoping Nonito would get the win but he was outboxed/outworked for most of the fight it would have been sad for the young challenger not to get the dec and it was certainly a pro Donaire crowd it would have been a travesty and another black eye for boxing look what happened in the main event one judge had Manny winning a razor thin dec and if he didn't knock Vargas down for a count he would have been given a draw is that judge that gave Canelo a draw against Mayweather is that judge still in the profession surely not

If that's true then Dan Rafael has lost me I thought he was above board guy who knew what he was talking about so that's sad news to hear if its true Dan is a fan of Nonito and thinks that's more important then the truth.

Regardless of how clearly Magdaleno won it, he made an extraordinary account of himself as a 24-year-old. If he has more improvement in store, he could be very elite in the future.

Rafael has previous for shocking scorecards, for what its worth I had it 114-114 but if anyone was to get it I thought Magdaleno deserved it

Jesse won it. Great fight. Love to see it again
