Just watching the brilliant 'My Fight' previewing the Kovalev vs Ward fight.

And Kovalev who has always seemed much older than his official age to me, is talking in detail about what he fed his dog in 1981 ... TWO years before he was officially born!

Ortiz is supposedly only 37 but he looks 45/46. Tony Thompson looked the younger man next to him!

Any other boxers fibbing about their age??

When I saw Valuev vs Holyfield I was shocked Holyfield was 46 year old. If you told me he was 25 I would have believed it as well, and it wasn't like he knitted sweaters for a living.

It is common place for sportsmen to change their birth date in Russia. That allows them to win in junior competitions. For example Rio gold winner in judo Khalmurzaev is 4 years older in reality. He also has numerous junior titles. No idea what age Kovalev is.

Remember Frank Maloney having a meltdown after an early Matt Skelton contest and offering to go to the dressing room and get Skeltons passport to prove his age.

Eugene Maloney I think that was. It was funny. They actually thought they were fooling people. Skelton was sat there looking embarrassed
