Quigg definitely a great fighter IMO but his reading of a fight and the tactics his trainer has employed have contributed to him not winning against Frampton and Salinas,I've always felt Hatton might get the best out of him

Yes -- if he had been more aggressive against Frampton he could have won that.

he bottled the frampton fight, doesnt matter what weight he goes to he will never have the mindset to win big fights. look at frampton going over to new york to bash up santa cruz, that's a real fighting man

I don't know if "bottled it" is the right phrase. Fought the wrong fight, definitely, but I don't think anyone can doubt Scott's courage. After all, he was pressing the action in the later rounds WITH a broken jaw.

And Frampton's performance in NYC was absolutely brilliant. What a fight! Fair play to Santa Cruz too. As I was telling my colleagues the next day, it took a Paddy & a Mexican to show Americans how to fight

I've called it on another thread that his opponent at featherweight will be a career super bantamweight.

Was gonna be a big fight Hearn said and they have known for ages they were fighting on this card.

Three weeks out and he is currently fighting Tomasz Bogdan Abramovich

Only when Gallagher told him in the corner sky had him 6-2 down ( really was 8-0 down ) that he actually started throwing punches.

In reality Gallagher should have read him the riot act after the 5th or 6th round.

I'm sure we all joked about Gallagher employing the Salinas tactics before the Frampton fight, 'knowing' full well that he couldn't be so stupid as to try them again. How little we knew

Although I'm not saying the outcome of the Quigg-Frampton fight would necessarily have been different if Quigg had a proper gameplan. But it would have given Quigg a much better chance.

I think he'll comfortably make the step up in terms of size and the power he carries.

I'll be interested to see what kind of opponent he goes for.
I think the Selby fight is one he could win by applying pressure and his body shots would slow selby right down.

I think he loses to LSC in a competitive affair and would likely lose to Frampton again. As well Loma moved up as I think stylistically, he'd pick Quigg apart

I'd target Warrington though, think he could do a job on him and Russell Jr would be another interesting match up and decent pay day

But i think selby's fluidity would give quigg problems, also I think we might be surprised by selbys size next to quigg in the ring

Quigg and Tesco Joe always used to claim that "after this fight we'll fight Rigo".
After the Frampton fight Quigg claimed many times his first fight back would be a world title fight.

I actually like Quigg and think he's one of the best I've seen in years at switching his punches up and down with power and speed. The problem with the loss was partly Quigg, partly Gallagher but also a lot of Frampton. People seem to forget CF was under pressure in that fight as well and it is a common misconception that because one guy wins then the course of the fight actually suited him. Frampton prefers guys who come at him, if Quigg had come at him earlier then it might not have been the SQ win people assume it would be. But Quigg could well have learned and benefited from that loss and he has shown he has ability to compete at world title level, I'm not sure feather offers anything more in terms of opponents or size that he couldn't deal with.

I don't think he'll carry his power up to featherweight.

Just too small.

Either would probably make for good viewing I'd think.

I wouldn't put Quigg as favourite and wouldn't write off the chance of him getting stopped but I think Quigg vs Russell jr is competitive.
