I'm assuming the general consensus among refs is that they don't look forward to officiating an Andre Ward fight.

The BadLeftHook website that initially reported the story has since issued an apology to Robert Byrd, because it turns out the Twitter account was indeed fake. The very same website has also removed the highly-embarrassing original story.boxing_rocks wrote:It may be a fake twitter account though.

It seems that an awful lot of people (excluding yourself) have made themselves look foolish by reacting to a fake Tweet.

You would have to be a complete moron to believe that was a real account. Come on. This is like people sharing those obviously fake satire news stories on Facebook and thinking they're real.

The ref. is not obliged to retract or apologise for someone saying something that he didn't.
There's no controversy here, since the ref never made the remarks he was accused of saying.
