Assuming you're referring to Briggs, because he's fighting for the WBA paper belt..gilgamesh wrote:And more importantly why does anyone care what a shot fighter who has little to no chance against anybody in the Top 30 is doing?
Against Lucas Browne still I'm assuming? Lucas Browne will beat him. Browne's one of the more beatable scalps out there for Briggs to try to take down, but if Browne can beat Chagaev I don't see why he can't beat Briggs.DannyMCR wrote:Assuming you're referring to Briggs, because he's fighting for the WBA paper belt..gilgamesh wrote:And more importantly why does anyone care what a shot fighter who has little to no chance against anybody in the Top 30 is doing?
Browne has failed a second drug test.gilgamesh wrote:Against Lucas Browne still I'm assuming? Lucas Browne will beat him. Ouch....so maybe that can dig up a softer opponent for Briggs. The WBA is good about that.lefty wrote:Browne has failed a second drug test.gilgamesh wrote:Against Lucas Browne still I'm assuming? Lol probably. Browne was doing year round VADA with the WBC (god knows why when he's fighting for the WBA strap or was supposed to be) after the first failed test and the idiot has failed againgilgamesh wrote:Ouch....so maybe that can dig up a softer opponent for Briggs. It's been shut numerous times in the past.Tony1244 wrote:gilgamesh wrote:And more importantly why does anyone care what a shot fighter who has little to no chance against anybody in the Top 30 is doing?
Because of his big mouth. People want to see it shut. A small % may believe his nonsense.
I can not agree, he's got power, and if he lands properly in the first quarter of match - he is capable to defeat by KO/TKO at least 10 fighters from top 30. Do you really think that he has no chance against Scott or Molina ?gilgamesh wrote:And more importantly why does anyone care what a shot fighter who has little to no chance against anybody in the Top 30 is doing?
Ustinov or Haye, unless Oquendo has recovered from his injury, which I doubt he has.dickbelden wrote:who is shannon briggs expected to fight now?

He was hospitalized and put into ICU the last time he fought a dangerous opponent.
If you're referring to Malik Scott or Eric Molina I'm not sure I'd consider those guys legitimately Top 30 on any respectable rankings list. And even if so they're certainly toward the bottom of it.ValMar wrote:I can not agree, he's got power, and if he lands properly in the first quarter of match - he is capable to defeat by KO/TKO at least 10 fighters from top 30. Key word: Boxrec Heavyweight ranking. I believe I said Respectable rankings list.ValMar wrote:Molina # 11gilgamesh wrote:If you're referring to Malik Scott or Eric Molina I'm not sure I'd consider those guys legitimately Top 30 on any respectable rankings list. Scott # 15
BOXREC HW rating, today
Martin, Breazeale and Washington he'd have a chance against because those guys are largely unproven and certainly nothing special. Chisora and Whyte would beat him.ValMar wrote:Gilgamesh, there are so many lists, but I am sure that old Briggs would have decent chances against Martin or Washington or Breazeale....against Chisora or Whyte too....
Breazele isn't even top 30.gilgamesh wrote:Key word: Boxrec Heavyweight ranking. I believe I said Respectable rankings list.ValMar wrote:Molina # 11gilgamesh wrote:

3. Deontay Wilder
4. Anthony Joshua
5. Joseph Parker
6. Luis Ortiz
7. Kubrat Pulev
8. Bermane Stiverne
9. Bryant Jennings
10. Carlos Takam
11. Johann Duhaupas
12. Artur Szpilka

14. Dominic Breazeale
15. Charles Martin
16. Gerald Washington
17. Andy Ruiz Jr.
18. Jarrell Miller
19. David Haye
20. Oscar Rivas
Still quite a few spots to go before you'd see Molina and Scott on my list from there.
Chisora is capable to beat only "no names". He's never defeated any decent HW. I am not sure for Whyte, I've watched him only once (disaster against Joshua).gilgamesh wrote:Martin, Breazeale and Washington he'd have a chance against because those guys are largely unproven and certainly nothing special. I'm very confident Chisora and Whyte beat Briggs. I'd pick Washington to beat him too. Breazeale and Martin are the toss up bouts there to me.ValMar wrote:Chisora is capable to beat only "no names". Breazeale I'd give the best chance out of the three, purely because of his toughness.gilgamesh wrote:Martin, Breazeale and Washington he'd have a chance against because those guys are largely unproven and certainly nothing special. He's beaten Helenius, also Gerber and Sexton. He's not a world beater but compare his resume to Takam who's only wins ae 40 year Michael Grant, and 42 year old Tony Tompson, both years ago. Or Szpika who's only win is 37 year old Tomasz Adamek. There's really not that many with better wins than him. Or Ustinov who's best win was, eh.ValMar wrote:Chisora is capable to beat only "no names". He's never defeated any decent HW.
Oquendo vs Briggs would be 50/50 to me.BitPlayer wrote:FRES OQUENDO, then make someone better manditory challenger.
