Crawford vs M. Garcia (140)

MG was a very promising fighter, and I believe in his capability to become the champion again (I suppose at 140). What do you think about his chances against Terence Crawford ? Is TC too huge for him ?

I can't see this fight being made. Garcia has only just made the jump from super featherweight to lightweight. Whereas Crawford is a huge 140lb-er that rehydrates to around the 157lbs mark by the time he enters the ring. You're proposing an unrealistic David vs. Goliath type fight.

I've read that Garcia personally had said he would move up at 140. Anyway, I would like to see him against Lomachenko (135) or Crawford (140). The both fights could be competitive.

Competitive maybe, but I feel that a "good big 'un will always beat a good little 'un".

Often, not always.

We should find out by the time the Zlatican fight transpires, but I think Mikey Garcia needs to worry about being diminished due to inactivity. He took 2.5 years off of boxing, and quite a lot of decline can occur during that period.

Garcia weighed 138 at the weigh-in for his last fight.

Garcia weighed 138 at the weigh-in for his last fight.
And that was after two and a half years of inactivity, with his next bout, he's challenging for the lightweight title.

It would be wonderful. I'm really fed up of mismatches. Although, MG needs two fights, because of ring rust.

Garcia's performance against Zlatićanin was excellent. I have to repeat : We (boxing fans) need this fight, this year....Without ducking and endless negotiations...Time is not on our side, Crawford will probably move up at WW soon, and it would be too much for Garcia.

I would rather see Mikey unify v Barthelemy, etc.. If TC moves up he moves up. I think that he may stay put though and that the fight could happen Cinco De Mayo 2018.

I believe Crawford outpointed Garcia in the amateurs, and would predict the same result today.
As far as Crawford moving up, I doubt if he does until Spence moves up, unless uncle Bob can keep him away. He didn't sound too confident when asked about that match-up. I think Crawford has the skills to compete with anyone, but Spence would be tough. Crawford isn't huge at all when compared to Spence....people keep saying he is too big for 140.

If Crawford doesn't fight Spence then how about the winner of Thurman-Garcia? Crawford needs to fight someone a lot better than Molina for his next fight.

garcia is big, he dyhidrated also a lot for his fights, i can see him moving up his weight, his power would be devasting with extra muscles.

Mikey seems to want to unify with the winner of Linares/Crolla or Flanagan/Petrov, so the Crawford fight probably wouldn't be on the cards until the end of this year at the earliest. I don't see any major challenges for Bud at 140 so would prefer to see him go to 147 instead of wasting a year of his prime with easy fights waiting for Garcia to move up. I'd be happy to see this fight, but just don't want it to slow Crawford's career down when he could be fighting Danny Garcia, Thurman, Porter, Spence, Manny etc at Welterweight.

There are only two possibly mega-fights at divisions below 147 - M.Garcia vs Lomachenko (135) and M. Garcia vs Crawford (140) to be seen this year.
I would be very happy to see one or another, unfortunatelly, Rigo is too tiny for SFW/LW....

Fvck Rigondull. I hope he retires so he doesn't bore any more boxing fans who have the misfortune to watch him box.

IF ONLY it always worked out that way. Carrying up/increasing power is about as likely for Garcia as you winning a spelling bee.

Crawford moved up from 135 just two years ago.

I would love to see this fight later this year. Garcia vs Linares in summer and then a fall ppv against Crawford. Odds that it happens? Slim.
