This Angle of The Fight Makes Kovalev Look Like The Winner

When you watch it from this angle it looks as if Ward is constantly in defense mode trying to keep the aggressive Kovalev off of him. Kovalev from this
angle clearly won this fight.

How was the angle from inside Krusher's cup, Krusty?

You don't win fights just for being aggressive.

You don't win fights being outlanded and beat up either

Perhaps, I think him winning more rounds and scoring a knock down, effective punching, aggression and ring generalship was a bigger factor. Clear winners look like the winner at any angle.

. . . and neither looked like the clear winner.

Yeah but he's the champion though. You gotta dominate or even put the champion DOWN at least once and Ward failed to do so. Kovalev got scammed
by those judges.

We've been through this debate a score of times before; the one who scores the most points in the eyes of the judges wins. Who is champion is not factored into the equation. The challenger needs not do anything more than the champion beyond out pointing him in the opinions of the judges if it reaches a decision.
Krusher fvcked up when he did not finish Ward, and the Russian got outboxed, and outlanded from 3 on.

I would like to have seen your opinion in a reverse situation.
You have to beat the champion. I had Kovalev by 2 could of been a draw but to have Ward winning is unlegit. He did what he had to do to survive grabbing is amount of round but he wasn t there for the win

Didn't Segey build a big lead in punch stats from round 2?
It means minus 2 rounds, Ward landed more punches.
That's 10 winnable rounds even if you were outlanded in total punches.
Boxing Scoring 101

I have stated repeatedly how I would have responded if Krusher had won; I would have celebrated all night with a house full of Russians.
Does the moniker for Ward "SOGgy" ring any bells? I labeled him that years ago. I made no secret of my disdain for him.
But, times change and Ward has been redeemed in my opinion. Now, as a result of the incessant squealing from the Krusher jock mites, I will be rooting hard for Ward to grate Krusher into a pile resembling beets for salad or borscht.

If you want to go purely on the compubox stats (which i never rate as being close to accurate btw), then it's 6 rounds each:
Kov: 1,2,4,6,10,12
Ward: 3,5,7,8,9,11
Kovalev wins whichever way you spin it.

Whatever, we no longer live in an era where the opinion of 3 old bias fools sitting ringside carries that much weight anyway.
History will remember Kovalev beating Ward's ass, before being robbed and jobbed by 3 American judges.

The 10th round says it all, they had to give that to ward to get their bonus check. He lost the 12th too. Robbed.

I just posted that exact sentiment in another thread, they knew 1 more round between 6-12 and it was curtains for Ward, but couldn't bring themselves to do it. Stitch up.

It's obvious, not a big deal. American boxing is ass, just hysterical all the people that picked ward but wanted kovalev have invented their own fight. It was very competitive after 3, but quite clear. 118-109 kovalev is much easier defended than ward winning.
