Ward/Kovalev never really got my juices flowing in the week leading up to it despite being the biggest fight of the year as stylistically I thought it wouldn't gel which it didn't but even though we have a similar boxer vs puncher scenario this week,its totally different,there shouldn't be much spoiling here hopefully,I can't wait for this one its gonna be a cracker,Lomachenko is one of the best boxers I've ever seen and looked sensational in knocking out Martinez last time out,career best performance and looks to be really evolving into a fun to watch pro,last time I seen Walters was the wide points win over Marriaga, I never seen the draw against Sosa which apparently he should've won

Great fight this and although Walters is a dangerous fighter he has been wobbled,Donaire rocked him badly before he KO'd Nonito,I'd be very surprised if Loma can KO Walters but I still think he can dominate him and win widely on the cards

I fancy Lomachenko by wide points, maybe a shutout.
I don't think Walters has maximised his potential after Donaire. Instead of riding a crest of a wave he went stagnant.
Lomachenko is highly skilled and incredibly seems to be learning and improving with every pro fight.

And some people moan about the lack of quality fights this year.

I don't think this year has been too bad.

I think too many look at the match ups that haven't been made and ignore the good fights we have had

I agree about Kovalev-Ward, I was hoping for a clear winner to cement his place as p4p #1. Although I think Kovalev was the clear winner, there was still an air of disappointment in his performance, his inability to finish Ward when he was badly hurt followed by him being unable to force his boxing and gameplan on Ward in the mid-rounds.

As impressive as Lomachenko was last time out, Martinez sucks.

If Lomachenko does to Walters what he did to Martinez, then I think he has a legitimate claim to being the best fighter in the world.

Agree I do think some fans including myself have to look at positives. Still been so much shite still. I was going to kick the sport in the head of Kovalev Ward fight didn't happen.

The wife of Robert Byrd. 2 of the butchers... sorry judges, from Ward-Kovalev will be joining Adalaide Byrd.

It never ceases to amaze me how accepted it is that it's the same small exclusive club in charge of these fights. It's the same in the UK, 1 minute IJL is butchering a fight in the ring reffing an undercard fight... before butchering the very next fight by scoring it ringside.

These people serve up controversy after controversy and are answerable to no-one. Infact, I only ever remember CJ Ross being brought to task, and that was after her Floyd-Canelo card. Looks like there's 1 guy with enough clout to see you out the door if you give him a shocking scorecard.

Did you see the Benavides v Santana fight on the Crawford v postal card ?

She gave Benevidez EVERY SINGLE ROUND. Literally one of if not the worst card I have seen.

I scored it 96-94 to Santana there were rounds where Benavidez literally threw NO punches and sat on the ropes.

Agreed

Some haven't delivered (Quigg vs Frampton) but just with the British and Irish fighters we've had some quality fights in Frampton vs Santa Cruz, Crolla vs Linares, Bellew vs Makubu etc.

2016 hasn't been brilliant but it hasn't been anywhere near as bad as people make out.

It hasn't been too bad as a whole but domestically it's been pretty poor especially from Mr Warren and BNation.

This fight is definitely one worth staying up for though

I've been quite vocal that U.K. Boxing delivered a number of big fights, especially British vs international opponents.

There's also been good fights in Japan.

Just because American boxing was unable to overcome some of its hurdles and deliver, it doesn't mean boxing sucked period. It just sucked in America, perhaps.

The huge potential for match ups in the heavyweight division is frustrating too, when none of them come off.

Can't wait for this fight. Been along time since I been this excited about a fight. Interested to see how loamachenko reacts to getting hit off the axe man. Still expect Loma to win but think it will be a lot tougher than some imagine

Would help if they stopped getting injured, going mad, and failing drug tests, and that's just one of them!

Loma should take it, but I think Walters is really being underestimated here.
