Will give them a watch. Obviously boxing fans understand the "On queer street" title but wonder how that's going to go over with the rest of the public?

I'm not sure how many of the general public will ever get a glimpse of this...

I saw that title and just had flash backs of scoring E on Canal street 20 years ago.

Even though I've heard many a Boxing commentator use the term "He's on queer street" I always thought it sounded stupid. There's no shortage of ways to say a guy is hurt, but "He's on queer street" has to be one of the least pleasing to the ear to me.

For some reason this reminds me of being part of a 5-a-side football team called: '4 Hoofs and a Piano.' Not many people got the reference.
Neither of us happened to be gay but the goalkeeper had a bit of a limp wrist. Which was ironic because he was supposed to be the piano!!

More like on gay prostitution. What boxing has to do with anything.

It's an idiom for being in serious trouble and is regularly used in boxing

Not so regularly as I have never heard of it. And I've watched almost every fight of past 10 years.

Not trying to be rude or provocative, but equally, in 35 years of following the fight game, it's part of the lexicon of the sport and if I'm watching a fight with friends, it's something one of us may say.
You are probably correct that as times have changed different uses of words are used, and so it's not one mentioned on a typical fight commentary.
Regards.
