Mismatches are sold to the paying public as "DARE TO BE GREAT" but do you really enjoy watching them ?

I love boxing but these mismatches are driving me away from boxing this year alone we have seen,

Canelo vs Khan
GGG vs Brook
AJ vs Martin

We are kicking 2017 of with Bellew vs Haye to continue the trend

What do you guys think about these mismatches ?

i like watching competitive matches .i hate seeing boxers that are well outclassed or not able to compete with a bigger man take a beating . only trouble is some of these fights have to take place before people know their limits. might not be the best examples but pacquaio and mayweather didn't do too bad fighting men a lot bigger than them.

I know mate, these mismatches bring a whole different audience and they well commercially so they continue. Manny & Flyod were cut from different cloths made absolute legends !

so did i ,big time .i don't know how i was expecting that fight to go before it started but i went between jaw on the floor not believing what i was seeing to roaring at the telly for joe. really enjoyed that night,but lacy really should have been pulled out long before the end. one of those proper tough as nails determined blokes that just would not give up.

Not if we all already expected a mismatch going in. If it's a fight that looks for all the world to be a competitive fight that turns out to be a mismatch in the ring that can be interesting sometimes because it's surprising.

I don't like fights where the winner is a foregone conclusion before Round 1 even starts though.

Depends if the person getting battered up is a tit or not tbh.

Allan v Ortiz, I don't like. Allan seems like a decent guy. Ward v Smigga I'll happily watch again. In fact I think I Smiggles should get in Kovalev.

Smigga truly deserves a world title fight but Kovalev doesn't have any belts. Stevenson has the WBC belt though I'll watch that for sure.

Very true.

In my eyes all the bouts I've seen wether at Dudley town hall or Wembley arena were more competitive,and that was only around a decade ago and some of the matches that have been made the BBCofC should have a look at themselves
Load of titles (interim, silver, gold etc)flying about don't help

If betting on them and I get the round or method right then yes!

It's funny, I don't like watching mismatches...but I do love watching the "under-rated under-dog" (think Ricky Sismundo, Rey Loreto, Adones Arguelo), who have records of poor fighters but are damned good fighters (Sismundo should have had wins over Jose Felix Jr, Dierry Jean and Ghislain Maduma this year!)

Hate seeing fights where a guy has turned up to lose.

Mexicans love watching Canelo in mismatches ,,, makes them feel superior

i think theres a difference between two fighters who dont belong in the ring with eachother - Calzaghe vs Manfredo, Pacquiao vs Algieri, and a fight which is lopsided but was not seen as such beforehand - Calzaghe vs Lacy, Barrera vs Hamed, Hopkins vs Pavlik

the second type of fight is a joy to watch because you didnt anticipate it, the first is boring because its expected
