How does Saunders win?

Canelo wins 8 or 9 times out of 10

Possibly by stoppage or very wide decision


Bjs is one of the "world champions" that I really dont rate at world level

Canelo is bordering on the elite... he smashes BJS, IMHO

BJS has good boxing skill and a style to cause Canelo the odd problem but if he throws as few punches as he did last time he faced someone with power (Andy Lee), I struggle to see how he throws enough to win rounds against Canelo.

Canelo wins ,, but i'm not to sure it would be a shutout BJ love him or hate him is a skillful boxer ,, just don't think he has the power to teach the mexican some respect ,, then again neither did Floyd and he won easy , ,,

Its a pity that BJ has been looked after so much by Frank , if he was a hungry fighter he would of been a lot better .

A year ago I would say BJs but because of his own stupid decisions he has been too inactive.

I can't stand him now but I won't take away the fact I rate him as a fighter. I actually think he would give GGG some problems for about 3-4 rounds.

He won't knock him out but to beat Conelo on points you have to win very wide and I'm not sure he can. Think he'll have to drop Conelo

I don't see BJS having the power to stop Canelo coming forward and BJS has proven he can't keep his backfoot boxing at a high pace for 12 rounds.

I don't even see anything from Saunders that tells me he stacks up rounds at this level.
I'd be pleasantly surprised if he nicks one or two in the entire fight.

I see this being fairly one sided on route to a stoppage

I've just read this again, I can't agree. I think its 9 or 10 times out of 10, with me leaning towards the 10.

Exactly what I'd have thought too.

Can't see Saunders ever winning a fight between the two, I'm not Alvarez's greatest fan but he's still significantly better and we all know he is naturally nearer SM so no weight, strength etc advantages even for BJS to call on.

That's exactly as i see it. BJS probably has 3 rounds of fitness and the skills to outbox Canelo. More skill but less speed than Khan so it will look pretty similar. As soon as BJS starts to puff and catches a couple of bodyshots it will last about another round and a half.

Bjs out boxes canelo I reckon bjs has a good chin as well so probably doable

after a year off Saunders returns tonight to beat Akavov, anybody change their opinion on this potential match up?

Canelo's bodyshots would absolutely destroy Saunders.

BJS is a hell of a lot better than he showed last night, but it's a completely one sided beat down. Saunders doesn't have the power or movement to hold Canelo off.

Forget saunders v canelo. I want eubank jr vs the ginger. That would be a tear up

BJS is a master boxer.
In shape and on-form (NOT how he was vs Akapov) he's capable of winning rounds vs the ATGs.

BUT - he's fragile. Lacks the physicality, power, chin etc to be an elite 12 round fighter. I'm sure CEJr woulda stopped him if it'd been his 6th 12 round fight rather than his first.

I think he starts well vs Canelo and after 6 rounds is slightly ahead. A bit like a MW Amir Khan. Just as you're thinking BJS might be able to pull it off, Canelo's power starts to tell and the ginger one pulls away for late stoppage(probably) or wide decision with BJS hanging on.
He COULD win if he fights the perfect fight, but probably get stiffed on the scorecards anyway.
Try to imagine the odds that you'd rather bet on BJS than Canelo and (for me) you get about 1/20 - 20/1 - a little more than the '9 times out of 10' an earlier poster suggested.

Still be a good fight, but I think the question is - "does BJS go the distance?" not who wins.

BJS too fragile for top level, he looked no better than domestic level the other night
