Lomachenko is better, because he is next generation fighter who was trained by the genius from early childhood.

I don’t think a lot of people like Floyd Mayweather Jr. or have any respect for his accomplishments, which leads me to believe that the vast majority of opinions submitted to this thread will almost certainly (and in most cases, dishonestly) favour Lomachenko .

It is not important whether you (and other posters) like or dislike Mayweather and Lomachenko as persons.
What do you think about boxers (Floyd and Vasil) ?

No question for me that Mayweather is great boxer. But he is more better selfmanager than a boxer. May knows how to choose fights and how to sell himself. I think promoution skills (of caurse with combination of great defense) helped him to be one from the bests during long time.
on the subject of Lomachenko... All we know that amateur experience gives fighter a basis of the most important thing. This thing is technique. That's why most best fighters from pros had huge and successful amateur experience in the past. And Vasyl was the most successful and effective fighter in the history of the amateurs.
397 fights, what a huge experience! This is something about 1200 rounds and 3500 minutes.

I personally favour Floyd Mayweather Jr. , possibly by late stoppage at 130lbs.

Mayweather, in general, is an astonishing talent, and he was so far above everyone at 130 it was comical when the division was very strong. Lomachenko is a very good fighter, but asking him to outbox one of the finest all around talents the sport has seen in that person's individual prime (and who has some significant physical advantages like 7" of reach) is too tall a task for me to, at this point, openly state. I'd like to see Vasyl in with Salido again to see what adjustments he's made to a pressure fighter type and see precisely how much he's grown. Floyd was able to turn that corner very successfully. If Lomachenko is not as successful, that brings into serious doubt my belief that he'd be competitive with Mayweather. I say this even recognizing that Salido is a bit shopworn but still game.

Floyd by wide decision. He's the greatest 130lb fighter ever.

Floyd. Reach and power at 130 too much. Lomachenko's best is yet to come though.... we seen the best of Floyd. So premature comparison.

Let us not forget how good FMJ was at 130 & any other weight for that matter.
Lomachenko is sublime, but he'd be up against the daddy in FMJ.
There'd be a high level of skill on display, but FMJ would do as he always did, work out his opponent & do what was necessary to win.
Floyd by UD.

Hard to say. Floyd at 130 was a good puncher, unlike in higher weights, but I think he wasn't as good of a boxer as he bacame later. Surely, he looked fantastic against Corrales, but Corrales' style was tailor-made for him. Against very average Jesus Chavez Floyd looked far from impressive. Very far. The same can be said about Hernandez fight. People tend to forget that the things that made Floyd so great were his incredible work ethic and ability to adapt, ability to learn. I think Floyd was learning throughout his all career and improved his technique a lot since his 130 lbs days.

Genaro Hernandez? I disagree.
You are right that FMJ's #1 asset was his ability to adapt / learn. FMJ at 130 would learn all he needed to know by Rd 3 and he would end it late in order to avoid the decision due to Loma's high activity level.
All conjecture of course.

tough one. both special. both very rare talents. i would say floyd. prime floyd is hard to beat by anybody. floyd would have some problem with lomas activity. loma would have problems with floyds precise punching and footwork, although loma has incredible footwork himself. so overall, very close fight.

Floyd is/was bigger and was a better puncher at 130. With comparable skill levels, it means that he stops Loma sooner or later in the fight.

Floyd was more offensively dangerous at 130 than he is now, but several fighters took him the distance. I think Loma would have a very good chance of going 12.
