Kellerman rewatched the fight, gives it 114-113 for Ward

Seems like those re watching it, are giving it to Ward..

Saturday night at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman started the night off by spending many minutes trying to justify the controversial decision in the Andre SOG Ward over Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev fight. The explanation went this way. Max explained that after reviewing the tapes, he came up with the same score as the judges. They scored it 114-113 for Ward. Max said he had it in favor of Kovalev, but he quickly whitewashed his own opinion by saying, I understand why the judges voted for Ward! Hence, there really wasn’t an explanation, only an excuse.

As I remember it Kellerman said that he scored it 114-113 Krusher on second viewing but he felt it could have gone either way.

Bullcrap!!! ... Kellerman NEVER said he gave it to Ward on a 2nd viewing... He's a Wardie and he scored it to Kovalev.. The correct score was 117-110 Kovalev. It wasn't close.. You could give Ward the 7th, 9th, and 11th, close rounds, but Kovalev had it bagged from the 6th because Ward wasn't scoring a knockdown.

There is no 'correct score' in a fight with so many close rounds. I gave Ward the same rounds you did, but thought he nicked the 3rd, 5th, 8th and 12th as well, so I had the same score as the judges. Upon rewatching, I had Kovalev winning a close fight, but still had Ward winning the 3rd and 8th.

117-110 whoa, I assume you scored David vs Goliath for the big man because he fell forward. Nah that score is wack.

117-110 or 116-111 Kovalev is a correct score. If you give ALL close rounds to Ward, it is 114-113 Kovalev.

Having watched the fight twice, I can say witout bias that rounds 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12 are all close rounds. If you scored all those for Ward it would be 115-112 Ward. It was a close fight, the only dodgy scoring was of the 10th round, which unfortunately cost Kovalev the fight.

Bottom line is that it was a very close fight. I personally scored it for Ward, but that doesn't mean that you couldn't score the fight for Kovalev.

This may be new to a lot of people, but there have been plenty of close fights in boxing history. Perfect example is Hagler-Leonard.

Anybody who scored that fight for Ward is freaking blind... He was out-boxed, out punched, knocked down, and beaten up... Kovalev landed more numerous, cleaner, and harder punches.. Kovalev was the aggressor more often, and was more active... He also committed fewer fouls.

So being fair, score half of them for ward, and kov wins 116-111. even making it 6-2 ward, gives kov a 115-114 win! That's how lol we're talking with this decision

Nonsense. Just cause rounds are close doesn't mean they should be split evenly.

We'd get a better bloody result!

Ward won this fight. His body work in the middle to late rounds did it. Kovalev was blowing hard by the end and Ward was getting stronger and stronger. I don't even think round ten was as wide as your lot would have people believe.

its hardly a scientific measure, however I bet if you collate a list of people still banging on about scoring this fight to kovalev, and compare with a list of those who strongly backed Kovalev before the fight, there would be a striking correlation between the two lists, entirely coincidentally. or not.

My overriding memory of this fight will be being called a HBO shill on YouTube, as though HBO are paying me for my opinion to post on YouTube!

If HBO are reading this I am available to be bought for any fight happening. :TU:

Funny because HBO clearly leaned Kov.....I wonder if they meant a Sky shill? Th e Sky team gushed about Ward, especially Paulie.
