It's a shame he's retiring, but good luck John if you're reading this, hope you and your family are happy. Action packed clever boxer; whether he won or lost, always showed class and respect to his opponent.

Spoke to him Sunday morning and he was a gentleman. His face was a real mess though and think he's just had enough, despite my best efforts to get another Dave ryan fight, they could fight at 80 and still not have a boring fight, styles just gel perfect but said himself hits like a mule and fancys none of that. Alll the best in what he does next and I hope he stays involved in some capacity.

McGuigans should offer him a Channel5 payday so Josh Taylor can take his name...

Without meaning to sound harsh. There would be no need for that fight. Hibbert had 3 fights with Ryan and winning 1 and Taylor just took Ryan apart in good style, so he doesn't really need hibbert for his name. I hope hibbert stays retired he was a joy to watch, always in good fights and always came across well when interviewed. He had a few hard fights and probably best for him to hang em up now

that was a bad bad KO last week, he doesn't want to be putting himself in the firing line for any more of that.

Decent fighter who reached a respectable level, but now is the right time for him to retire, the ability to chose to leave on his own terms is more than many fighters have.

I wish him all the best.
