How much ppv buys would Muhammad Ali - Mike Tyson have made today?

both prime, both the characters that they were.

mayweather/pacquiao did 4,6. my guess for ali/tyson considering that ali and tyson were global icons, not only super stars known in usa or phillipines or parts of uk. so ppv in uk, germany, overall europa, in australia/asia would also have played a part since at some moment in time ali was the most known living human being in the world, same arguably for tyson, so my guess would be around 10-15 buys.

It would have broken all records.

Every TV screen on Earth would have blasting that fight out, that's for sure.

so 100 million ppv buys......or what freaking number are u envisioning. imagine 100 m buys, floyd and pac made like 300 million each of their fight, so ali and tyson would have made 20 times more than floyd and pac, so ali & tyson get 6 billion each, assuming 100 million people buy the fight. hahahahaha, what a number.

all of usa. canada, germany, uk, japan, australia, well in lots of countrys they simlpy dont have the money to buy it, most countrys in the world are poor compared to usa/europa standards.

You're insane. People used to take trains from across the country to see Dempsey fight. His popularity created the first radio broadcast. The dude had a million dollar purse during the great depression. And if you don't see the racial divide in our country and understand that would generate even more interest. I don't know what to tell you. Dempsey was the biggest sports name on the planet.

No, vitali was a late replacement for Kirk Johnson. It wouldn't have sold here,

yeah people took trains to go watch dempsey. millions of people from japan to usa to germany to australia woke up in the middle of the night (timechange) to watch tyson fight. so what now. both were icons in their on time. all i know is when i watch demspey and when i watch tyson, watching tyson makes more fun and i think most have the same oppinion, would prefer to watch tyson than dempsey.

They were very similar fighters. Seek and destroy, Dempsey was an idol of Mike's. With much of Dempsey's career not on film I'd rather watch him. Not sure what that has to do with anything. There are thousands of fighters I'd rather watch than Floyd, doesn't make them a bigger draw. Hell, he's bigger than tyson was by quite a bit.

It was only a question, without any bad intentions. I didn't know this, and I asked......

floyd is famous cause of his bravado, loudmouth and today tv oriented people and stupid people

tyson was famous cause he was fun to watch, no boxer ever did bring so much action to boxing than tyson, no dempsey, no ali, no nobody

It ALL depends on WHO they were fighting... If they were fighting Anthony Joshua... Luis Ortiz... or David Haye??? -- about 8-million buys

If they were fighting Alfredo Evangelista, Chuck Wepner, Rudi Lubbers, Julius Francis, Buster Douglas, Bruce Seldom, or James Smith??? -- about 13 buys

It's like the difference between Dempsey-Tunney and Marciano-Cockell

I also think Dempsey would be more competitive with Ali, though I'd pick Mike over jack.

Yeah. Dempsey never had a thriller like Tyson/Smith. again, what does that have to do with anything? You asked about ppv buys, Dempsey/Ali tops them all. The most popular fighter ever against the most polarizing, white vs black, boxer vs slugger. Sorry, you lose.

my question was "how much ppv buys would ali tyson have made today?"

read the sentence again, i am saying TODAY. i say, demspey wasnt entertaining enough to be watch more than tyson. tyson out of all boxers had the most fun style to watch, therefore i am 100 % certain that ali tyson would have done today more than ali dempsey. go on your streets and ask 20 different people about jack dempsey and mike tyson and i bet you, more people will know mike more than jack.

Yeah, today. Give Dempsey tv, social media and all that and he'd be as popular as the Beatles. It's ok that you don't know anything about jack. It's current scene. :TU:

Weird comparison.
It would probably so the same.

We are comparing fighters from eras where the general public cared about boxing
to ones from an era where boxing isn't listed as a major sport (in the US).

What would our opinion of Bernard Hopkins be if he had the same career in the 60's to 80's?
He'd probably be in history books.

So we can bring two boxers from different generations into their prime years later, with one of them needing brought back to life, but we can fix the ignorance of randos on the street? There have been few sports stars in ANY sport bigger than Dempsey was in his day.

Without getting into a shit slinging session here.

It's fair to say, any combo of Ali, Tyson and Dempsey would break records

3 guys that brought real focus to the most popular division, in the current age would break records.

No point arguing which combination would get more. These are 3 of the most popular heavy's of all time
