Anthony Joshua has lined up an April 29 date with Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium.

The IBF World heavyweight champion defends his title for the second time against Eric Molina on December 10, but AJ is already thinking beyond that.

The former lineal heavyweight champion's rumored date with the 2012 Olympic gold medallist was scuppered through a calf injury.

Now AJ will have the chance to recreate scenes from the rematch between Carl Froch vs George Groves and box in front of 80,000 fans, according to The Sun.

Re attendance, whatever the capacity is, it'll do that.

No way either men are capable of selling out Wembley.

On his own Wlad couldn't but Joshua is comfortably selling out the biggest arenas going in fights that are pretty meaningless. His profile is bigger than Froch was, it's the marquee division. It'll do miles more than 40k.

I can accept completely the hype is OTT about Joshua's ability. But there's no doubt he can sell.

With the right undercard it'll be a sell out

If the fight was in Germany, Wlad would sell any arena and stadium, he's not fought in the UK in over 15 years.. It should be a good turn out at Wembley. I don't think Joshua would do 80,000 with a lot of opponents. It's gonna be the few e.g. Fury, Wlad, Wilder (possibly)..

If Haye wins his next fight the Joshua fight does Wembley easy. Two big punchers, Haye as The Heel, world title fight, would be massive

Any source for this? Just checked the Manchester Arena website. Of the 11 ticket categories 6 are sold out and a further 3 are only offering 1 ticket bookings. Doesn't seem to reflect an arena with c. 10k empty?

O2 has certainly looked full in his last few fights.

All the tickets are on the usual tour sites and there's absolute tons available.

Can you imagine the Wlad/Joshua press conferences???
That won't make 80k flock to Wembley.

They will sell as many tickets as they can get licensed to sell. For Froch-Groves II it was 80,000, they could sell 100,000 if allowed to do so.

Guy saying they would only sell 40,000 is way off, laughably. AJ sold out the o2 instantly against Martin and Breazeale who nobody outside hardcore boxing fans had heard of. Now we are talking about Wlad, a near legendary heavyweight champion, who has twice appeared in massive PPV fights on Sky Box Office.

80k is huge for a fight.

Froch-Groves was a once off.

Joshua ONLY sells out Wembley against Fury or Haye.

Put this in perspective Lewis-Bruno was way less than 80k and I'd say it was a far more popular fight.

I wouldn't under estimate the casuals with this one. But I get the point about Haye or Fury would 100% sell it out.

Didn't Bruno v Witherspoon and McCall do about 40,000 at the old Wembley.

I think it'll depend on the ticket prices of course but I think 80,000 is very much achievable.

Apparently the tickets for Froch/Groves started at £30 (Source - warning, it's the Daily Mail) so I think they'll shift.

Thinking logically, Wlad sells out stadiums in Germany so I don't think they'd agree to fighting over here unless they were going to sell more tickets than he would over there.

Edit: I'd also say comparing this to older fights can be used by either side. Lewis/Bruno, fair enough but Hatton did 55k against Lazcano and over 50k saw Kessler/Calzaghe - I reckon Joshua/Klitschko would attract more casual fans than either of those.

Sell out. The amount of ridiculous over-hype from Sky will make sure of that.

Id love Molina to spark him and upset the plans.

Though to put a bit of context to this, I don't have Sky TV.

It's a joke to think that this wouldn't sell more than Froch-Groves. Joshua is the pin up boy of British boxing and has the casuals drooling. Klitchko is the father of boxing over the last 20 years, and is still very relevant. Both fighters have a much bigger profile than Froch and Groves.

£30 tickets in the gods will make this accessible for people who don't normally attend boxing events, and people on lower incomes. For me, easy sell out.

Next week isn't sold out, nor was his last fight at the O2. About 25% end up on Stubhub and not all of them get sold, it's all bollox.

They've made the Haye-Bellew fight so if it's a quick knock over, the winner can take part in the Wembley show I suspect.

People will buy in to it. The build up will be long and have lots of money behind it.

The novelty of boxing being held at Wembley brings a certain amount out too.

It will sell out.

Totally different fights. Wlad sells out in minutes. Guaranteed.

It will be whatever the capacity the license allows.

Last time it was the moving of people after the fight which forced it down. So Eddie will have to bring it all forward to get close to the 90000 capacity.

Football matches are finished by 10pm latest. The froch fight was just starting then.
