Why's that, Freiheit? Give us a little insight into his abilities if you would.
And why has he been so inactive of late?

"Chief support on the card sees a potentially explosive middleweight encounter between Cwmbran’s Gary Lockett and Birmingham’s Wayne Elcock in a final eliminator for the WBU world title."
An eliminator for the WBU belt?
I thought all WBU challengers were handpicked or are they trying to make the belt seem a bit more legitimate?

Does this mean he will not be fighting Nelson?

i'd be ashamed to be in a WBU eliminator...it would make it look like i really want that title. But it's a good fight though...so i dont care.
Enzo's opponent is a safe one. I'm ok with that because it doesn't risk a Enzo-Nelson showdown. Bu from Enzo's point of view, it doesn't exactly prepare him for Nelson.
Nelson is genuine world class...and Enzo has fought no one near that. He needs to prepare for Nelson by at least fighting someone closer to his level first...but that may involve taking a risk..that may not pay off.

Now that's a real fight

They should really ditch the WBU bit - just makes it look like a farce.

I got all excited before i realised i had mixed up Kristiansen with Lasse Johansen
![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
Johansen-Macarinelli would have been a solid matchup but it did seem a bit out there considering both are still prospects.

Kristiansen also fires blanks by the look of his 25-4-1 (9) record. Wonder if he was able to floor Delaney in their fight - a man Enzo floored SEVEN times.

Kristiansen's fight vs Mahlangu can be downloaded from the WBVA same with the 7 first rounds of the fight vs Aurino (dont know why its only 7). I think Dutch have the fight vs Jensen on tape somewhere so he maybe he can put that one up also.

Do you know if he floored Garry Delaney, Freiheit?

Delaney quit but if he had been floored I cant remember.

What is your opinion of him as a fighter?
Posted: 06 Aug 2004, 15:04
by Freiheit
He is a stand as a fighter as you can get. He is pretty limited and he doesnt have too great a chin, he has been knocked down several times. He has had a good career for a fight with his talent. He doesnt have much power but in his fight ves Mahlangu he threw the uppercut of his life and knocked him out cold, probably the best KO ever in Denmark. At this point of his career ihe is pretty much a journeyman.

This is the third rumoured fight the SN haven't landed - Harries vs Hatton, Skelton vs Harrison and now Macrinelli vs Cantatore all not happening.
Not been a good week, especially as the pressure has been on.
JC - The Macrinelli vs Nelson fight was always rumoured to be for Nelson's fairwell outing in December, so it could still happen. Nelson is fighting Rudiger May on the 4th of September, in Germany.
Edit - Forgot about Calzaghe vs Johnson aswell.

Team Hobson offered to fight Macca over a week ago.............they just got a no. SN reluctance to put their so called Champs and prospects in meaningful fights is becoming ever more evident......imagine this
HOBSON V MACCARINELLI SEPT 3RD
WITTER V HATTON SEPT 9TH
Efforts have been made by Team Hobson and Team Witter to make these fights happen because this is what British Boxing needs, but unfortunately they don't look like they are going to happen!!!!! :(

Exactly, Elcock-Lockett should be the main event. Macca against the drunk from my local pub is not a main event.
