Anyone know of any web sites that list top ten contenders of the different weight divisons through the years? For instance, if one wanted to research who the top ten contenders for heavyweight (or any other division) in 1972 (or any year for that matter)...or for a specific month in 1972...where might one look on the 'net to find such info???

I've run numerous searchs to no avail...anyone out there who might lead me in the right direction?

Ring Ratings

Sweet Scientist,
This is an interesting topic as I've been searching for the ratings as well and eventually got them by purchasing a 1981 Ring Record Book. The year-end ratings were available from 1924-1982. There are no yearly ratings after that. If you get ahold of a 1982 Ring Record Book, they have all the year-end ratings from 1924-1981 in the back. I don't know if the 1983 Record book has all the ratings, but someone was kind enough to email me a copy of the 1982 Ratings from the book.

If you're trying to keep track after 1982, what I do is write down the monthly ratings from the feature in the back of each month's Ring magazine. I have ratings spread out from 1983-present and I'm trying to get ratings from every 3 to 4 months to have an idea of who cracked and stayed in the Top 10. If you have some Ring magazines and would like to share, I could email you a particular time period and we could trade back and forth. If you are interested, please email me.
