I've been listening to his younger brother who is an extremely talented lyricist, he mentions tak a lot in his songs, but also said he's the only brother in his family that hasn't been to prison. I vaguely remember tak getting into a bit of bother when his career ended. Anyone know what he's up to now? He was quite entertaining

I don't know what he is doing now but I remember when he was arrested after boxing live on Sky Sports on Saturday night and claiming dole on Wednesday morning.

He was definitely a character.

Pieces on takaloo,farnell,starrie,Hatton,Gomez,Tommy Mac
Fook me warren looks young in it too

I remember talking to Wayne Alexander at the York Hall one night and dropped in Tak's name, he said it's the only guy he genuinely hated and was so pleased he knocked him out. He did say he was heavy handed though, grudgingly.

I don't know if he is down there still. Been to a couple of gyms down that way never heard of him being mentioned or seen on the circuit anywhere.

I used to think his first name was Margates.

He always got introduced as Margates Takaloo

Takaloo featured as a contestant on a fantastic game show called "britain's hardest", which aired on sky 1. It was hosted by Phil Mitchell. It was essentially a tough man contest featuring tasks such as hitting a car with a sledgehammer, Hitting a block of concrete with a sledgehammer, kicking holes in interior doors and stopping a car from rolling down a slope. The top 2 contestants from each episode had to face one another in a punch up/wrestling match on a circular platform and force each other off the edge. No punches above the chest were allowed.
Tak was eliminated before this stage of the competition. And a good thing too as he'd have probably cut his opponent in half with one body punch. The weird thing was they made no mention of his pro boxing past: just described him as "Takaloo, a roofer from Margate".
