Paul Gallen

Like a lot of people on here I love the sweet science. Love watching skilled courageous atheletes test themselves in the lonliest most dangerous sport in the world. I will always support it.
But when a matchmaker pits a debutant into the ring with Paul Gallen i can only think someone will be put in danger just to pad a record and entertain a bloodthirst mob.

I'm a Raiders supporter so I hope Junior Paulo can acquit himself well. But I've seen Gallen fight a few times and he can fight. Would love to see him fight Willie Nasio for the Aussie Title. He would be a chance.

Is this a charity event?

I quite like Paulo.... absolute wrecking ball on the field.... in the ring he could well start sucking in the deep ones by the 2nd round....

Kye Mackenzie won the Australian super Lightweight title on the undercard and was not charitable about it, winning by KO.

And called out Dib.

Fairly accurate reporting of the night:

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/ ... 7833a8b559

The ring announcer seemed hard pressed to get the crowd motivated, and the NRL players (apart from Gallen) seemed to tank fitness wise as the rounds wore on.

Then Dib gave him the "show me the money" gesture. I like both fighters. But i think Dib out-foxes MacKenzie.

Did you seriously expect them to look like seasoned fighters throughout? Come on!

Just wanna say I apologise for me starting this thread, I had no Idea the size of Junior. it was an excellent fight I don't know what you would have to do to hurt the big guy

Junior is a monster! Not a bad skill set either.

I thought it was a bit silly having Junior fight a "seasoned" fighter like Gal. However he did all right for himself. I think he'd dispatch most of the other footy-player-cum-boxer type's.
Carney looked scared and Sandow was a pub-brawler. I still think Carney lost that one.
MacKenzie had a great win and that was a fun fight, a great one for the legit bout on the card.

I did laugh when they showed Reynolds and Sutton before the Sandow fight and the look on Reynold's face when they asked him if he'd like to fight.

I thought the Kye Mckenzie fight was worthy of being the main event, it was a good fight between two tough little fighters, Gallen got a bit of a shock with junior, I would put my money on Junior if he gets a few more fights under his belt, he has got the right moves, the other boys had the guts to get through the ropes, young Sandow would be lucky to win a fight in the pub,,I only hope Gallen didn,t get paid more than the two pros
all the best

Great decision I just hope you stay away from the judging caper.....great decision  the first two rounds Sandow clearly won and when you run away and back hand your opponent how the fuc do you get a draw one judge had it 3-0 in Sandows favour its just another way to turn off people when they see this sort of thing please give the decision to the rightful winner even if its a charity event. :bag:

He should fight Sonny Bill Williams next, they are both undefeated Gallen (8/0/0) and SBW (7/0/0), would be a great fight.

I thought that SBW would be too much for Gallen. But it wasn't until I watched Gallen beat Herman in Toowoomba that I realized that Gallen can fight a bit. Fit, tough and keeps coming. I'm not saying he beats SBW, but I give him a real chance in that fight.
