McCullough returns to the ring in September, a lot of people feel this is bad for McCullough and the sport what do you guys think?

Not really sure what to think, I don't want to see one of my heores staying on for too long. However, he still has a sharp look about outside of the ring and it is quite possible that it was just Harrison who was all wrong for him.

My major concern is that he doesn't really know what weight he will be fighting - for me there is no question (its Super Bantamweight) I don't want to see him in with the current feathers, he would beat them in his prime.

However, there is a gap for a quality fighter at Super Bantam, Wayne could still have enough to fill that gap.

I'm apprehensive about his return, I hope he does well and I wouldn't be surprised that he will surprise many with how much he has left.

as much as ive enjoyed his career i think its time for McCullough to walk away. long preiods of inaction recently, question marks over brain scans and a comprehensive beating from Scott Harrison not too long ago.

he should go an enjoy his life. he cant be short of a few quid. has a nice family life and a nice lifestyle in vegas. he should go and enjoy it.

ive never been too sure about the idea of having his wife as his manager though. not that im suggesting any impropriaty here or that she hasnt done a good job but i always thought that a managers job is to look after a fighter (amongst other things). that must be very hard on the one hand emotionally if your married to the fighter and extremely hard to keep a balanced viewpoint when your husband still insists on another fight and asks your support.

whatever the outcome, i hope waynes safe, does well and doesnt become another holyfield

Being a manager is a hard job full stop. Kurt Ermhoff posts at another forum where I contribute - he was really struggling with the decisions towards the end of Teron Millett's career. While Millett is okay financially, he still wanted to continue fighting. Despite now becoming an opponent and talking with a slur. Kurt told him he wanted him to retire, but Millett said he'd find a new manager. Kurt didn't want to see a person that he not only managed but a friend get ripped off at this stage - so really didn't know whether to continue or not.

it was the time of the Stewart fight when Kurt knew it was over, but he didn't rate Stewart highly and thought a shot Millett would be competitive. He was distraught that Millett took a beating. Luckily, despite some worries - it looks like Millett has seen sence. It was really like Rocky and Mickey in Rocky III.

McCullough should retire. He only ever really dominated at bantamweight. As soon as he moved up, he became a big name opponent and even light-punching Daniel Zaragoza cracked his jaw.
Now, he's just an opponent.

I have little concern for Wayne at Super Bantamweight, provided he remains sharp, however, at featherweight, I can see only pain in his future. Harrison is generally considered a step below Marquez and Pacquaio, and put a terrible beating on him. I would shudder to think what Marquez and Pacquaio would do, and with Wayne having such a great chin it could be real ugly. however, at Super Bantam he could probably work his way up to a title shot, though his recent inactivity won't have helped him.
