What do you think about ? Without trolling, please !
100% everything you saidLackeos wrote:You can never be sure from one fight whether the higher ranked guy was overrated, whether the lower ranked guy was underrated, or a mixture of both. I've always believed that Chisora was top 10, and that Whyte was underrated, but without a lot of evidence to back it up. After this fight, I think the safest course of action is to rank each of them at about #10-14 until there is further evidence to go on. Let's not forget that Chisora stopped Malik Scott, competed on close terms with Pulev, and beat a variety of gatekeepers like KJ, Pala and Gerber. Whyte was quite competitive with Joshua, unlike Martin and Molina, who was laughably ranked #10 on boxrec.
To get specific, I think there are 8 fighters who belong clearly above Chisora and Whyte (Fury, Wlad, Ortiz, Wilder, Povetkin, Pulev, Parker, Haye), and there are two who belong in a similar class (Takam, Jennings). So if it were my own ratings, I would probably put Whyte at #10 and Chisora at #11.
No he doesn't.ValMar wrote:What do you think about ? Without trolling, please !

this would be my top 10. no, whyte doesnt belong in there. look, even guys like duhaupas or browne, they beat quality opponents, one beat mike perez and artur splizka, the other beat manuel charr and ko'd helenius. whyte did not much compared to that, he lost to josh and had a very close fight with chisora, with a lot of people say he lost too and aside from josh and chisora he faced nobodys. whyte is 10-20

Will the Current Scene ever be free from these worthless trolls?Jip wrote:stupid question. but ill answer
wlad fought 0 times in 2016, isnt even listed on boxrec anymore, lost his last fight and never looked impressiv since 2015.
povetkin is a 6'2 guy who wouldnt stand a chance against those tall punchers. struggling with a cruiserweight in huck. taking drugs. the last 4 guys he fought wach, perez, charr and takam arent more impressiv than what ortiz, josh and wilder have been fighting.

To answer your question (while I don't consider Whyte to be Top 10) - I'd say that given the lack of top fighters facing each other, it has to be pretty common these days to have boxers ranked in the Top 10 who haven't defeated a Top 10 opponent. Perhaps that's not how it should be, but it's the way it is.Enlightened-One wrote:Since when do we award top ten world ratings to men that have never defeated a top ten rated opponent?
Dereck Chisora wasn't rated anywhere near the top ten prior to last night's first fight, with Dillian Whyte only emerging victorious by the smallest of margins.

Inthe forum rankings he was top 15 so that's pretty close to top 10.Enlightened-One wrote:Since when do we award top ten world ratings to men that have never defeated a top ten rated opponent?

I would have preferred that you address my entire post not an individual extract, since individual sentences in isolation might not truly reflect the point I intended to make.Horse wrote:It happens all of the time.Enlightened-One wrote:Since when do we award top ten world ratings to men that have never defeated a top ten rated opponent?
Joshua hasn't beaten a top 10 ranked fighter and he's in the top 10.

Going back to your previous point, Anthony Joshua defeated Charles Martin, who was ranked 9th by The Ring.Horse wrote:I don't care what you want.Enlightened-One wrote:I would have preferred that you address my entire post not an individual extract, since individual sentences in isolation might not truly reflect the point I intended to make.

The rest of your post did nothing to make the initial question any less foolish.

Martin was never a legitimate top 10 ranked heavyweight.Enlightened-One wrote:Going back to your previous point, Anthony Joshua defeated Charles Martin, who was ranked 9th by The Ring.

The Ring's rankings are wack.
