WBC MAKES RULING THAT PROHIBITS FATHERS ACTING AS CHIEF SECONDS IN THEIR SONS CORNER

Can anyone think of any fights that have had father in corner and stopped it too early or done the right thing by stopping it at the right time?

It's total nonsense. And ludicrous coming from WBC. No idea why this ruling was made especially as outwardly there's no money in it for Sulamain. Must be a spiteful / bribery thing against Danny Garcia.

Also - it's not as enforceable as you'd think.

E.g. What about a stepfather? And if they brought the boxer up as their own? What if the parentage is not 100% confirmed? Are the WBC going to insist on DNA paternity tests for every corner man? What happens if the 'father' who brought up the kid as his own is later tested and is not his natural father... can he now go in the corner?

This is yet another piece of nonsensical legislation brought in by a bunch of corrupt cowboys. There HAS to be an ulterior motive

Aparently the rule is written in a way that is HUGELY different from the headline and it seems they will be able to do everything they do at the moment. Not read the rule yet but that's what I've seen being mentioned on twitter.

What if they let the cutman jump in the ring and kid on they are the chief seconds and the dad hangs outside the ropes and gives advice from there?

Maybe something to annoy Povetkin? His father doesn't live any more.
