does anybody know if they can watch ppv fights on tv. i mean, china has over 1 billion people and easily 200 million with enough money to buy ppv.
i am just imagining how much a ppv mega star would make globaly, hbo usa, pac made in his best days around 1 million ppv buys, take another 1 million from hbo china (if that exists =)) and you got 2 million buys, so mayweather-pacquiao would have been over 9 millions ppv buys.

No, most Chinese fights are on CCTV 5 or Beijing Sports and streamed LEGALLY on sports.le.com
PPV will never take off in China, just like it won't in Germany or neighbouring countries like Japan, Thailand or Korea.

thanks for the info
but do hbo or the promoter do money out of chinese tv station like cctv, who show boxing fight, but have commercials around? normaly company who do commercials would give money to the owner of the fight, hbo and promotion company. like in superbowl, where company give millions ´for commercial time.

CCTV5 is State owned TV, the shows don't cost much to put on, promoters use a combination of sponsorship, TV money and ticket sales to fund much of the shows. Some are possibly loss leaders. Don't think CCTV5 has any "commercials", just advertising for their own broadcast stuff. Got to remember that fighters over their aren't making PBC style money, probably fair to say that on mainland China this year the most well paid fighter is Nehomar Cermeno or Qiu Xiao Jun (who apparently had a TV audience of 200,000,000 for a fight earlier this year).
The Macau shows were basically paid for by the casino's whilst Hong Kong shows seems to be based on sponsorship, TV (not sure which TV channelcovers the sport in Hong Kong) and ticket sales, with Def HK being the only major promoter there.
