The Late Howie Steindler ran the famous boxing gym in downtown La.........Many famous fighters worked out there at some point including sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammd Ali.......... Howie managed one world Champion in Davey Little Red Lopez.........Tragically Howie was the victim of a homicide in 1977 after leaving his gym in La on night. Many contemporary boxing fans may not remember Howie. But he is part of the boxing community. In fact the character Mickety in the Movie Rocky was based on life of Howie Steindler. The gym scenes in that movie were based on what Howie's gym was like also. Give the Late Howie Syeindler Credit, he gave his life to the sport and the gym he ran was even open several years after his untimely passing on to keep his memory alive.........As a members of the Boxing Community all forum users should give him a Final Salute to commend him for his contribution to the Sport of Boxing.
