FOUR-WEIGHT world champion Roman Gonzalez and WBO cruiserweight boss Oleksandr Usyk could both feature on the March 18 Gennady Golovkin-Danny Jacobs undercard in New York.

Boxing News understands that K2 Promotions are working to try and find a way of getting both Gonzalez and Usyk on the show.

‘Chocolatito’ – pound-for-pound the best fighter on the planet – is set to defend his WBC super-flyweight title against Carlos Cuadras in a rematch, with the WBC recently confirming the return will take place in March.

Both Nicaraguan Gonzalez and Usyk are now regulars on televised shows (on HBO), which will see their profiles grow rapidly. Both unbeaten and enormous talents with a propensity for knockouts, 2017 could be a huge year for them if they get the right fights and feature on big cards like Golovkin-Jacobs.

I think this is good news. K2 can put on some decent cards. Gonzales is more known in the US and Usyk is an exciting prospect. Will be good exposure.. Don't think it will significantly boost ppv buys. But will make the card worthwile

As good as he is, and considering his lack of English to help compensate, I'm not sure if Usyk has the style to catch on well in the US.

Personally I'd rather he wasn't on the card. As ridiculous as that sounds, I figure that they'll not be able to more than a showcase fight if it's third from the top of the card. If I were living in the States where this will be PPV then I guess I'd be more pleased.

As to the question, Gonzalez will help with the PPV numbers a bit, Usyk not so much. Only hardcore fans know him, most of whom I'd imagine will be buying anyway.
