Because there's more to boxing than being physically gifted. I think he fought like a fighter who had a lot more power than he actually did as well, too often tried to put everything into big single shots rather than using his speed in bursts and combinations.

I don't agree Pascal was physically gifted... 46-year-old Hopkins targeted Jean because he's slow and stupid... He beat Chad Dawson well before Andre Ward beat him. That amazed me. I thought, "Damn, Dawson looks like crap." I never thought Froch was particularly athletic or gifted, but I felt he would beat Pascal and Groves. I thought both were terrible. Pascal was successful because he was strong and tough. However you keep taking shots and that chin is history.

What went wrong?
Nothing went "wrong".
Not everybody is going to be an all time great or hall of famer.
At age 34 Pascal has a record of 31-4-1 in 37 fights has won a world title, achieved general recognition as the top light heavyweight for a time, lost only to the very best and likely has become a wealthy man in the process of all that.
Jean Pascal has had a very solid, respectable career.

I didn't see Pascal's recent fight but I hope he looked bad enough in victory that Stevenson will finally have the sack to fight him.

He's just not a very technically sound boxer. Athleticism doesn't always equate to being a good fighter.

If anything the guy over achieved.

Nothing went wrong, he's just a fighter that has always had the flaw of being a 6 round fighter. He's a handful for those 6 rounds, but he's flat the last half of a Championship fight.
