Was talking about Ricky Burns in another thread,3 weight world champ but not even the most talented boxer from Scotland and there's been dozens more from the rest of Britain who never won a world title

But what about Ricky's heart though,is there many other UK fighters in history who can match him? He's lucky in the fact he has a good chin because there's plenty of boxers with big hearts who's chin or engine let them down, not. Burns though,

What other great British fighters not only had a big heart but also had the ability to turn a fight in their favour,Benn and Crolla spring to mind?????

A couple of years ago Steve Collins was raving about this kid, saying that he has the heart of an old-time dock worker.

Buglioni epitamises(?) everything im talking about,he's had a big following from day 1 but sutpassed their expectations,about as fan friendly as it gets and a nice guy too,a ĺot of the title level guys you hate seeing in routine/inbetween fights,with Buglioni you know its gonna be fun,im glad he's finally won a title before promoters/fans started to think he was some sort of gimmick who sells tickets but likes to get bashed up

Mainly because I've given the poor lad nothing but grief on here for the last couple of years and I have to give him credit on this score, he's not lacking in heart

Nigel Benn rightly gets a mention but so too should Eubank Sr. As much as he divides opinion I'm pretty sure everyone agrees there was nothing wrong with his heart.

I'm not too sure about Gomez. Obv he had a huge heart and was a real warrior, but he didn't really turn it around in fights he was losing often. He'd have a war and gut out out when he was evenly matched like vs Arthur, and maybe get the jump on a higher level fighter early doors befor being contained like he did khan, but he rarely changed a fight once he was getting a drubbing. I can think of the second bognar fight were he was put over early then came back. I say this as a huge fan tho, one of my fav domestic fighters. Huge heart, but wouldn't turn the tide in a one sided fight like a Carl Thompson.

There's a good interview documentary on YouTube about his career definitely worth a watch and was still devastated about the ref stopping the Nelson fight all these years later. Thompson was in some real battles.
