Ronda was considered the best female mma fighter mma, not only that, i remembered a poll and i am not sure if its was espn and some other known high profile sportsstation, in that poll Ronda was consiered as one of females best sports athletes ever, in the same breath of Steffi Graf or Serena Williams, bottum line she was considered as an top 5 female athlete of all time!

Floyd Mayweather with his official (i say official cause for me he is defeated) undefeated record, winning against famous opponents like de la Hoya or Canelo, a long with his rare defensive skills was considered of by many not only the p4p best boxer in present time, but some even said the best boxer ever period.

Now the interresting comparison. Ronda fought when the division was just getting started. when female fighting was new and lots of c quality females were fighting or totaly unathletic female fighters like that goblin Bethe Correia or female fighters who did train 50 % of the time and still working a job aside from fighting, so semi professional. Once female fighting got more professional and elite competitors came along like pro female boxing champion Holly Holm Ronda started losing badly, cause finaly she wasnt facing opponents who were training while still having a job.

Now you gonne tell me, what does that have to do with Floyd. How can you compare boxings famous ww division with emerging female mma division?

the answer is, there is no clear comparison, but i want to point something out. Ronda was considered a mma female godes, #1 ever. now people are questioning if she is even in the top 3, with cybord, nunes or holm

Floyd Mayweather was at ww, when most top welterweights were old, old mosley, old hoya or retired. Imagine Floyd in the prime Tito, prime Hoya, prime Mosley, prime Forrest, prime Wright, prime Vargas days . I am not saying Floyd aint no good, he is superb. all i am saying is, there is a huge difference between womens division some years ago & now and there is a huge difference between the ww division during floyds time and during 1998-2004 and when you realy want to know how good Floyd is, to compare realisticly how he would do against those guys, considering how he struggled against old Hoya and Maidana, who is a good boxer, strong puncher, but come on, he aint no Tito or Forrest this can ultimatly make a huge difference if someone is the clear #1 ever like they used to say of Ronda or just a top 10 ever.

I wish every "Floyd" thread, especially stupid ones like this, would automatically be sent to the boxers of the past section. There are getting to be more trolls here than good posters.

The ONLY difference I see between Floyd and Rousey, aside from the obvious, is how they reacted to fame and fortune once they reached the very top of their sports. One capitalized on every red cent by staying sharp and in shape while the other chose to neglect her craft and resemble a chubby 11 year old boy.

I can't stand Floyd and I think he's ruined boxing for the most part but no one can question his focus and dedication to stay on top once he got there. He was careful with whom he shared the ring with but he still got it done as well as anyone has when faced with the highest levels of fame and distraction. Not many stay that long at the top and then get out unblemished. I hate that i just wrote this.

i never said any contraire in this thread. floyd was arguably the hardest working boxer never, not many trained as dedicated as him.

i was talking about competetion and once competition raised for ronda, she failed.not saying floyd would 100 % lose against prime de la hoya, prime tszyu, prime paul williams etc. just saying that these guys in another league than maidana, guerrero or old mosley. thats all. and you have to see everything in perspective. cause people said ronda was females #1 mma fighter ever and a lot were saying floyd is boxing best boxer ever and now ronda isnt even in talks for top 3 and who knows how high floyd would be on a atg p4p had he fought all prime mosley, tito, hoya, tszyu, leonard and haerns around 147, thats all i am saying. when you are at the top, be ready to get judges on details.

You've created nothing but a thinly-veiled Floyd Mayweather Jr. "hate" thread... and the existence of the veil itself cannot be used to justify such negativity or the proposition of provocative loaded questions.

If self-loathing people want to project their feelings of inadequacy onto others, such as bítchíng and moaning about Floyd Mayweather Jr. in this thread, then who am I to stop them?

Rousey looked so bad getting slaughtered by Holly Holm... She looked like a rank amateur fkk face matched against a master... After that fight, comparing Rousey with Mayweather is not really something that makes sense... I think Floyd should be criticized for not fighting Kell Brook or Keith Thurman and cherry-picking Andre Berto -- but comparing Floyd with the shrinking violet Rousey, who doesn't seem to want to fight again -- is a bit much.

quality of opposition changes a lot. from a best ever female fighter to a top 10. rondas opponents were poor, so were mostly floyds. not that floyd opponents were bad, guerrero is a good boxer, canelo is a very good boxer, but again, they aint no prime mosley, prime tito, prime hopkins, guys oscar faced for example.

Stupid comparison. Ronda losing to Holm and Nunes would be like if Floyd was KO'd by Corrales and Jesus Chavez. And I'm far from a fan of Floyd.

She really didn't neglect her craft and she did stay sharp with what she knows...grapling and Judo. She never was a striker and she never improved that flaw and that's what did her in.

It's called ring rust and it's as important a factor as any. Taking a fight of that magnitude without a tuneup was ridiculous and it was over after the first jab so don't say that she stayed sharp. She lost weight and looked more like a fighter this time out but she was far from sharp and her decision to money grab will forever affect her legacy.
