Being reported up this neck of the woods that Ricky Burns is in the frame to fight Manny over here at 140 for his WBA strap. Read a bit where Freddie Roach confirms that Burns is being seriously considered!

Excellent news for Burns if he manages to somehow get this fight. This actually crossed my mind last week when I read how team PAC were looking at Jeff Horn in Oz. I thought 'why not Burns over here?'. Surely that would make more sense?

Personally I'm sceptical but I'd love it to happen and I'd definitely try and attend if it were to happen.

Eddie seems to have said it's not happening after speaking with arum. Announcement on burns opponent Wednesday.

I was told Indongo was signed and to be announced this week

Seriously though, I thought Jeff Horn was/is in the frame.

If you've ever been to the Brisbane/Gold Coast region you'll see the huge Asian/Oriental influence up there. I'm sure they could get that bout on a Sunday early afternoon. 2pm in Brisbane on a Sunday is 11pm in New York on a Saturday.

I couldn't see Eddie digging deep for the 20 million fee for pac versus one of his non metropolitan fighters.

Malignaggi on his podcast said they stopped negotiating with burns and he was talking more about fighting for the euro title at 147.

He did seem to think Burns and Indongo had agreed a deal.

Eddie has been saying they will announce burns next fight this week.

The pacquaio story is a load of bollocks

Despite his highlight reel KO win to pick up the IBF, I can't see him stopping Burns.

I envisage a close fight that could go either way - not picking a winner but I reckon Burns could beat Indongo.

I hope he finally gets the unification he has craved for all of his time as a titlists (Fana at s/f, Vasquez at light).

In light of Terrence Crawfords rapid ascent as a Lb4Lb fighter, am I the only person that thinks that Burns performance vs 'bud' is starting to look more respectable as time goes on?

I know he lost clearly but he was competitive and gave a better showing than the likes of Molina, Gamboa, Postol, Lundy, Beltran imo

Kind of similar to Ward/Froch where the scorecards were probably a bit closer than they should've been but yeah I agree Burns never looked like being stopped by Crawford,i like the fact that Terence is after a rematch to try and claim Ricky's WBA belt but as a contest,i'd give Burns about as little hope of winning that's possible between a contest between 2 men

I'm the same. It's a big fight for Burns and a win would no doubt lead to a bigger name. Not seen enough of Indongo though part from him blasting Troya. He looks an awkward type of opponent and he can obviously whack.

There's that uncertainty with both fighters which I like.

For years people have thought Burns is shot. I thought Figueroa would steamroll him but he didn't. Some point someone is surely going to end him.

Then Indongo just some guy from Namibia who won in 40 seconds never fought out of Namibia is he legit or is he just a guy with a pumped up record who landed a lucky shot ???

Just read that Burns v Indongo unification has been confirmed for April at the Hydro in Glasgow Big night for Ricky and Scottish boxing.

Indongo's record prior to his last fight doesn't suggest that he's anything special, or even that good of a puncher. I think the 40 second KO may well be a fluke, and it won't surprise me if Burns wins this fairly comfortably.

This was a good grab for Burns; interesting fight with another belt on the line, but very winnable IMO.

Agreed, been thinking that myself.

Indongo ! Indongo ! They drink it in the congo !

I had Crawford beating Burns 10-2, and think the scores were somewhat generous to Burns. Gamboa had more success in the first 3 than Burns had all fight IMO, though he obviously couldn't keep it up.

Still, one of the best showings anyone's had against Crawford. There often wasn't a great deal in the rounds Crawford won, whereas now he's pretty much routing opponents at every step of the contest.
