Announced on the undercard for the Eubanks Jr fight! Everyone's thoughts on it?
A bit harsh to execute him for losing.samwbr wrote:Got to be Prices last chance. Lose this its back to the scaffolding.

I think I'm maybe gonna have to throw the towel in and admit David Price will not be the next Wladimir Klitschko
It's a good fight though. It would be Price's best win and they've obviously realised they have to actually beat at least one top 20 type guy to get a shot at some kind of world title. Loose and its over but this and another similar win and he'll probably get a shot and a decent pay daychinarich wrote:Hammer is not particularly good and probably won't be capable of sparking Price out so in that sense he's a tailor-made opponent. However, where does Price go after he wins this? I just cannot see how they are going to step him up and avoid history repeating itself there are some fundamental weaknesses there. Best they match him very carefully and position him for one big cash out fight against a belt holder...
You are overestimating Price's chin.chinarich wrote:Hammer is not particularly good and probably won't be capable of sparking Price out
The pawing! It's so frustrating to watch... All he needs to do is pump the jab out follow it with the straight right and most guys won't be able to get near him. Instead he paws a bit and then drifts into his opponents punching range... and gets knocked out.Riddick Blowe wrote:Hammer isn't very good but does Price actually have any confidence left at this point? If Price does that nervous pawing thing all night and is afraid to throw shots I would pick someone way further down the rankings (whatever rankings are worth at heavy these days) than Hammer to beat him.
Thing is, people tend to confuse having long arms and height with being able to have a great jab! He's never had even a good jab so he's not suddenly going to start popping it out like a tall Larry Holmes, he doesn't have the timing or talent needed for a great jab, it's only ever been a range finder. For such a big man he fights small. His head is virtually resting on his own chest at times!Dixonian wrote:The pawing! It's so frustrating to watch... Assuming he beats Hammer? Why not throw a few quid Charles Martin's way? Nice angle to that one obviously. If Price could beat both in good fashion he can bring up the Fury/Joshua fights against the same opponents. Certainly better than the ammo he is using now ( 'sparring, sparring, I'm big, er, I'm English? Er, er....' ) to try and land a big fight.
True but he could at least use a jab!lillywhite14 wrote:Thing is, people tend to confuse having long arms and height with being able to have a great jab! Hammer not a top 20 guy though.fizzjambo wrote:It's a good fight though. Yes, he is.world ranked wrote:Hammer not a top 20 guy though.
Martin is seriously mentally ill. There's plenty of 'rants' and weird selfie videos floating around and the kid has absolutely lost the plot and looks like he's dangerous to be around. For all the talk about Tyson Fury's supposed bi-polar, Martin looks like the real deal.Stuarty30 wrote:Charles is too busy burning the crack pipe at both ends judging by his last videolillywhite14 wrote:chinarich wrote:Hammer is not particularly good and probably won't be capable of sparking Price out so in that sense he's a tailor-made opponent. He didn't say he is top 20, but a top 20 type of guy. I think that's fair. It's not easy to pick a bonafide top 20. It's probably more of a case of there being 30 odd fighters who could feasibly sneak in a top 20 and it wouldn't be too outrageous. He's one of them.world ranked wrote:Hammer not a top 20 guy though.fizzjambo wrote:It's a good fight though.
