in Scotland :o (sorry if you offended by this i couldnt resist
Joe Calzaghe and Alex Arthur will headline an October 22 card at the Royal Highland Showground in Edinburgh.

Calzaghe will put his WBO super-middleweight crown on the line, while Arthur will make a defence of his IBF Intercontinental super-featherweight title.

Neither fighter knows his opponent yet, although promoter allegedly will announce Calzaghe's on Tuesday.

"The WBO made Mario Veit interim champion when Joe agreed to fight Glencoffe Johnson at light-heavyweight, so we have to deal with that situation first," explained Warren.

Calzaghe, who never fought Johnson, would struggle to create much interest if he fought Veit again after knocking him out in the first round when they met last time.

If Mario Veit is announced as Calzaghe's next opponent, I'm cancelling Sky.

its got to happen though hasnt it?????

Warren has messed up.... Veit is already interim champ so has to fight the real champ?????

Either Calzaghe a)vacates b) fights Veit c) pay Veit a shit load of cash to "step aside" as it were

Boxing gone mad. A champion has to fight a guy he obliterated in one round in order to hold on to a title he never relinquished!

I thought "Calzaghe getting a broad" was the cause of much of his self-inflicted problems - he needs to stop getting broads and start fighting live bodies. :-?

Scotland does seem a bit far afield for Joe, though - won't his fear of traveling (which seems to only abate when he's spectating at big fights in Vegas of getting a tan in the southern climes) make him miserable? Have a haggis on me, Joey - and you can take it and stick it right up yer...well, I'd better not say, after all this is a *family* forum. ;)

BTW, does anyone have any idea what happened to the famous lawsuit Fwank Wawwen was going to pursue against Glen Johnson and Goossen/Tutor Promotions for not giving him a make-up date in Cardiff for the fight he pulled out of due to his mysterious recurring back troubles?
