When he was an amateur, the newsprints were calling him "modern day wonder". 57-13 amateur. Won middleweight bronze in U.S. Olympic trials of '88. And went 1-1 vs world amateur champ Darin Allen in the process. He held a win against Canadian Pan-Am Silver medalist Otis Grant. Won the New England championship three times. Was recruited by none other than Sugar Ray Leonard at the pro..but ultimately would turn to the local Attorney, F. Mac Buckley [known for taking Marlon Starling to No. 1 ranking, (early, & with New York Post)].
Professional he ran up a 13-0-0 before running into one Mr. Brett Lally in Nationally televised fight. And their came his first defeat. Some other losses followed but by mid year 1996 they got him into range for a world title fight. In that he went to Germany and dropped 12 round decision against the unbeaten champ Henry Maske. But he still fought good fights after that.
Today he's a trainer and regularly still spars.
Some will say he disappointed.,But..lot was expected from him.
