“I think about it (retirement) a lot.”

“Maybe a couple more fights. Maybe I’ll finish out my contract with Top Rank and be done. Nobody is too big for me! But it’s about health too. I’m trying to leave this sport with some sense.”

Bradley says he “can’t complain,” and that at age 33 he feels he has “done pretty damn well,” which is of course an understatement.

Bradley’s contract with Top Rank, which he renewed in August of 2016, expires in August of 2018, so it is possible Bradley could engage in a couple more big fights before he walks away and into The Hall of Fame one day? What do you think, is “Desert Storm” worthy? The former 140 and 147-pound champ says such a fight would have to “make sense,” and that his whole team would have to agree on it.

Currently at 33-2-1(13) and having never been stopped (Bradley’s chin appearing truly phenomenal at times) Bradley has already compiled some resume, and he might not be quite done yet. As is the case with certain fighters, it is likely Bradley and his considerable accomplishments will only be fully appreciated once he has retired.

I'd like him to stick around but who can he fight? Only top fighters at that weight with Top Rank are Manny and Crawford. No need for another fight with Manny and him and Crawford have said they won't fight each other. Hopefully he can force a couple of fights with Haymon fighters, I doubt he's a massive money maker for Arum so maybe he'd be willing to risk him in the hope that he can get one last big win.

Terence Crawford and Timothy Bradley won't face each other because they're good buddies. Dan Rafael wrote about this when he interviewed Crawford.

Cotto

Cotto would be a good fight for him, and actually...so might a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez. Marquez keeps talking about a possible comeback and I know he wanted a rematch with Bradley a few years ago. At the time I thought it was stupid, but now I feel like Bradley would surely have the upper hand no matter where they fought so I don't think it'd be a bad move for Bradley to give Marquez a rematch in Mexico if there were big money involved. I think he'd beat him pretty handily at this point considering Marquez hasn't fought in like 2 or 3 years now and is something like 42 or 43 years old.

Cotto and Marquez 2 are some fights that make the most sense for him to go out on, and they could be easily arranged through Top Rank I'd think. I'd personally love to see him fight Shawn Porter or Keith Thurman as well, but I know those matchups are probably unlikely.

I'd prefer to see JMM stay retired at this point. He's well over 2 years without a fight now and I wouldn't want him to come back and not be able to do himself justice. Cotto on the other hand would probably be a decent fight, Bradley isn't the biggest welterweight out there though so I think Cotto would have a considerable advantage having grown into a proper light middleweight over the past 5+ years.

Bradley fought higher in the amateurs. Not a big puncher, but physically strong. He'd be fine at 54.
