1:32 * Tommy Ryan seems to be having some difficulty seeing. It's not that he's bleeding all that badly but the location of the cut - over the eye - makes it a bit more serious. And talk about timing, the referee has stepped in and momentarily stopped the fight. He's looking at the cut above Ryan's eye and is now leading him toward the ringside physician. 2:7
1:32 * The referee won't stop the fight on his own if the reason for the stoppage directly has to do with a cut or swelling; he'll always consult the ringside doctor. And it looks like, in this case, we're going to see some more boxing because the physician has given his okay to let the fight continue. 1:32 The deep gash on Ryan's forehead has reopened, undoing his corner man's work. It's bleeding steadily once again. 0:10
1:32 * The referee appears to be jockeying for position; he's moving more than the fighters. Apparently, he wants to get a better look at the cut above Ryan's eye. Now, he just steps in and stops the action. Perez Huerta is escorting Tommy Ryan over to the ringside doctor to get an opinion on the severity of the cut. 0:10
1:37 * The Referee has halted this fight. He leads Ryan to the corner and motions for the ring physician. The ring doctor is examining it... That damn headbutt cut that Hopkins caused and got away with reared it's ugly head again. Ryan is having some hard luck in fights he should be winning.
