Jack WON That Fight

Outlanded him in 10 rounds. AND landed the cleaner, harder shots.

Not a robbery. But a poor decision for sure.

Not a lot in it either way, not the worst decision by any stretch!

I don't love Jack's chances at 175 with the killers in that division but he's a good fighter. A very good fighter. Not good enough to beat Ward or Kovalev of course.

He'd have a chance against ward.

I don't agree.

It was a very close fight and a draw is the best possible verdict.

He'd have a chance against both.

Jack will get mullered at 175 though

True. He's very good. He'd beat Adonis.

Maybe a small chance against Ward, and a tiny tiny tiny chance against Kovalev. But far more likely they would both beat him comfortably.

I'd be extremely confident that Kovalev or Ward would beat Jack thoroughly. They're both another level beyond a guy like Degale. Jack vs Stevenson would be a toss up.

Just watched it. I thought Jack did enough down the stretch and the knock down sealed it. It was close, but I was disappointed with Degale's stamina again. He gasses so hard and boxes so little of the last few rounds.

Yeah at this point the stamina issue has shown itself enough for me to say there's no fixing it for Degale. Some guys are just like that. They don't have 12 round stamina no matter what they do. Jean Pascal for instance was always a 6 or 7 round fighter. Jermain Taylor, De La Hoya and Zab Judah are other examples, but at least it usually took until the final 3 rounds or so for Taylor and DLH to gas.

Degale gasses pretty much halfway through the fight. That's gonna wind up being the cause of a lot of his blemishes on his record I figure. He's a very skilled boxer who is capable of hanging with most anybody in the early going, but the stamina issue is a weakness that ain't correcting itself.

I think Jack deserved to win all 3 of his draws....

Yep, Mayweather had a right to be upset.

I had it 114-112 for Degale. I think Jack started to slow. I had Degale up by 5 points after the fourth. Very close fight though.

Mayweather is an absolute helmet, he cant stand being in a room with someone who's getting more attention than himself so has to hijack every mike or camera in sight

I wouldn't mind as much if he had anything interesting to say but jeez the guy bores the tits off me

Even Eddie "look at me" Hearn couldn't get a look in.

There's a lot of sense being talked in this thread. I opened expecting to read "ROBBERY, OUTRAGE, CORRUPTION!"
But there's an acceptance that the decision just didn't go the way people thought it should and it was the wrong call.

Like so many of the close decisions lately that everyones branded "ROBBERY" I think it could have easily been scored either way.
I had it to Degale by a round or two I think, I think the draw was fair and looking at the damage on Degales face he can't be too disappointed not to win.

I can see how someone would have scored it to Jack, depending on what you like.

Disappointed with Degale's stamina? What a ridiculous statement. Degale, used his legs to keep that fight off the ropes and in the center of the ring. He got his tooth (teeth?) knocked out and took Jack's best punches for12 rounds and he finished the fight. Most fighters would have been KO'd.

Both guys deserve great credit for this one

I think he was probably just meaning he tired in the second half. Which is fair as Jack took over in the final few rounds.
By Degales standards he kept a good tempo and lasted better than usual but Jack was clearly fitter going into the last rounds.
Both men desevre credit of course for a good tough performance

Jack took over after the third. Starting from the 4th, DeGale won 2 rounds at most.

It is REALLY hard to score the fight for DeGale, and even though I started watching rooting for him, I think the judge who gave him the win is corrupt. I hope the other two made honest mistakes, but I am not sure about that.

What does having his teeth knocked out have to do with him gassing late on? He clearly did, it's a problem he's struggled with before. :brick:

You are the one who needs to accept reality. Top level pro boxing is ruled by crooks and so is top level amateur boxing.
