Floyd Mayweather is backing Adrien Broner to once again lift world honours.
Speaking at the press conference for Broner’s fight with Adrian Granados, Mayweather revealed: “I’m proud of Adrien Broner. It was a minor setback for a major comeback. I don’t want him to overlook Granados. It’s an important fight.”
“It’s two hungry lions. That’s what it’s all about, giving people the entertainment. It’s a good matchup. Neither is a push over. It’s what boxing is all about, the best fighting the best.”
Mayweather will co-promote the event in partnership with ‘About Billions Promotions’ and believes the match up will be a fan friendly affair.
Speaking with his promoter’s hat on, Floyd revealed: “We’re always looking for the next pay per view star, both of these fighters have potential to step up and achieve that.”
Despite his out of the ring troubles, Mayweather is urging Broner to put the work in and show his early promise.
“He’s very flamboyant, very outspoken but still young. He’s got to go out there day in and day out and prove he’s the best.”
