Just thought i'd have a look at what's available on the stubhub only resale area after the latest batch of tickets were released yesterday. It's a moment in time snapshot and i'd imagine that there were a good few sales before christmas as people got them for presents and also yesterday once people realised they couldn't get them at face value. The rough number of tickets available are:

Top Tier (blocks 500) - 1000 available
Second tier (blocks 200) - 375 available
Third tier (blocks 100) - 340 available
Floor tickets - 485 available

That's roughly 2,500 (or 7% )tickets available to buy the day after 35,000 were released. It would be interesting to know how many have been sold via the resale site in total come the day of the fight.

With that percentage, it seems to me as if they haven't even attempted to stop touting

Of course they haven't, that's their trade! The musical Hamilton went on sale yesterday and was in a lot more demand than the fight, paperless tickets. It's easy to do.

They should be more open about it then as this is fuelling a fake demand. People get pissed off at OPEC controlling the supply of oil to the world in order to maintain their lavish lifestyles. The same should apply to the Hearns!!!

Yeah it's a bit of the joke, the tickets sold out in an hour but it was a ticket selling sites that bought a large percentage of them. How many tickets have genuinely been sold to actual people?

890 in the top tier
495 2nd tier
485 3rd tier
730 floor tickets (some of the floor blocks with 70 seats available)

That's 2,600 available on that site today. Working on the 35,000 made available yesterday (and adding in the tickets on stubhub), that's 14% of the tickets from yesterday on the resale sites. I've no idea how many were made available on the first release or if a load were resold yesterday and how many will wait to re-sell when the actual fight hype kicks in.

A lot are individuals, like me, who do it. It was a guaranteed money spinner. Whoever said on here it wouldn't sell out was mental. Hamilton tickets are doing £2,500 for an £80 ticket... So that's £7,000 for a minutes work...

Ps I got Hamilton, but my son loves it and is going with his mam. I'm going to try bribe him or ground him and sell them.

No... It's the biggest musical in the world, and it's coming to London. It crashed Ticketmaster yesterday.

fair enough. Not on my radar. I see U2 are releasing tickets next week too. I'm guessing they will go the same way

I wouldn't worry about U2, you'll get them.

I think you need to compare against the total tickets sold. A lot of those tickets will have been on the resale sites before the 35,000 were sold yesterday. A lot of people will just be chancing their arm I.e. Buying £150 tickets with the intention of going but will take £250 if an offer came in.

It's definitely not a definitive list of tickets that have been sold, i'll admit that. There are 2 sides to it though as i'm sure a lot of tickets were shifted after the first 50,000 were released as they were extremely difficult to get hold of and within minutes, the re-sale outlets were flooded so i'm guessing that some of those were shifted to the people who missed out first time around.

However, if we do assume that these 5,100 tickets that are available on stubhub and viagogo are the only tickets that have been bought for re-sale only then that still equates to 6% of the 85,000. I would imagine that in reality we'll be looking at around at least double that being available on these sites

I assume a lot of these are bought by bots of some kind as well as soon as they go on the general ticket pages and are then immediately placed by the controllers of such bots onto stubhub and the like. I think the government is considering legislation of some kind to prevent this happening but to be honest I'm so fed up with it now that I barely pay attention to it any more.

Still can't get my head around why people get their knickers in a knot over this. Don't go if the tickets are too expensive for you or simply unavailable. I wouldn't pay more than 35 quid for a boxing ticket, so it's small hall only for me. Know your limitations.

It's not the touting as such, this happens for a range of things as Mickey pointed out higher up the thread. The thing that really gets me is the links to it all and the way in which the fans are treated.

Joshua has been sponsored by stubhub pretty much from the beginning and there's been a lot of rumours that his tickets have gone direct to stubhub and bypassed the customer option. It then gets to his biggest fight and they're then the only outlet selling the tickets, which is fine, however, they are sold out immediately and then thousands are instantly available on their re-sale section. It all just seems very murky and this specific type of behaviour needs to be investigated and outlawed in my opinion.

The behaviour i'm specifically talking about being outlawed is the collusion of the promoter and ticket outlet of not releasing the full allocation and releasing those that have been kept behind on a resale platform at a higher price. It may seem outlandish to some but there are music promoters out there who have admitted that this goes on.

I don't disagree with that at all but the majority of people don't see it that way. They want to see this. I'm lucky in that i wanted to see the fight and i've got face value tickets. Others haven't been

Stub hub is terrible but with the amount of tickets avaliable and the coach packages if you really wanted face value tickets you would most likely get them for this.

Being on the ball, presale, fast internet. I think the £2,500 is just for the opening night. Mine are for a bit later. Like I said, they're not for sale.

I logged on to Stubhub at 8am and it had a countdown timer. It hit zero at midday and I was immediately placed in a queue at number 15535. I got down to 2003 when they sold out

For my sins and to be a complete casual, I do however have tickets at face value for Bellew v Haye. Although facevalue does not actually exist. Mandatory booking fee and charges added £22.50 to a £200 ticket so it is not possible to buy a ticket at its face value and THAT should be looked into. When I rang to complain, they told me it was to cover additional costs and I explained there is no such thing, there is only 'costs'.
