Congratulations Carl Frampton. Hard to argue with this decision

After Ward got every benefit of the doubt from the judges (and a full ass licking by Paulie), Frampton was my pick too

Britain's only ever had 3 Ring Fighters of the Year and we've just had two back to back.
We are doing very well at the moment.

Also the first ever Irish winner.

One could argue, if we were stretching it that Fury was the first Irish winner (I think it was him last year?)
A good achievement either way but not apparently good enough for wankfest BBC SPOTY

It is one sport, one which you (and obviously I) like, does not mean they should be contenders for a national prize which includes all sports. I am sure there were competitors equally or even more accomplished in their own fields than Fury and Frampton, and they were also not on BBC SPOTY

I'm glad for Frampton. Seems a classy guy, great fighter, good for boxing.

I heard that Scott Quigg boycotted the Ring Awards, because he wasn't nominated.

Well done Carl.
I love that Ward has been given 'Comeback of the Year' despite it being rather unclear what he's come back from since he's had two fights since his actual 'comeback'.

Brilliant Frampton.
BBC should be ashamed of themselves

I've just watched a behind the scenes video on his training camp for the next fight. They are bang on it, as they should be.

Well done to Frampton. Beat Quigg in Manchester with a bit of speed and awkwardness. Beat Santa Cruz proving his toughness. Not a fan, don't like his style. Think he's the one to give Ridondeaux the most problems, however, and hope a fight can be arranged. Will be hard to hold on to his success.

I cannot think of a fighter more deserving than Frampton in 2016.... But, and I hate to sound so negative, I think 2016 wasn't exactly a stella year for any stand out performance.
As I said it is deserving, but he did only have 2 fights in 2016 - big fights, but both he was favourite to win (albeit very small favourite vs Santa Cruz).
