Can remember this like it was yesterday. All the buildup to the fight. Was actually this fight that got me in to boxing in the first place. Spinks at that time was considered to be a legitimate threat to Mike, a lot of experts saying that spinks would be a good test for tyson!. Looking back I actually bought into the hype. The build up was so exciting and can remember listening to the fight in the early hours on the radio. And of course when it came to it poor Michael had no chance. This was tyson on fire . Haaa good days

My worst prediction of all time.
I picked Spinks by decision.

Spinks was never a HW and should never have been allowed into the ring with one (not one who was any good and wasn't ripe for the taking, anyway). Before the fight he was asked whether he was afraid of facing Tyson and his response went along the lines of..."No I'm not afraid. But I'm afraid of what may happen"

It was the great Mike Tyson's finest hour!

Reporter.., "Mike you really jumped on Spinks." ... Tyson.., "Yeah. I looked at him before the fight. I stared at him. He didn't look right. He didn't look ready."

I picked Micheal too by decision. Then 91 seconds later, damage was done nice by Mike. Like his brother Leon, probably in the right place at the right time.

Spinks had as much chance as Patterson against Liston... Movable object versus unstoppable force (for his size and strength).

It was like Jack London's analysis of "A Pygmy stood a better chance against a Colossus."
