Been a bit of discussion recently about a few fighters in this weight class. Having a look at the rankings there a a fair few guys now in their mid to early 20s with unbeaten records who look talented. But will they fight each other.

A few months ago Jack Caterrall pulled out against Tyrone Nurse ( think he had changed trainer at the time)

Now again another fighter pulls out against Nurse, Ohara Davies who from what I hear isn't the most liked. He did look poor in his last fight.

Josh Taylor looked good v Dave Ryan

Robbie Davies looked decent last night.Tom Farrell is another one around that level he looked decent v Kofi Yates last year

My point in this thread will they actually fight each other ? There could be some really good domestic fights here which I fear aren't going to happen.

Remember the gloves are off middleweights Barker,Lee, Murray and Macklin. Any combination in their prime would have been class fights. I think we could see something here in this weight class as people as they progress.

Hopefully we see some domestic fights here later in the year.

Some really good fights to be made. The main problem though is will the promoters work with each other to let these fights happen.

Taylor is the man out of those guy's.

If I'm W@rren, I'm attaching Catterall to either Hughie Fury or Terry Flanagan on Manchester shows and I'm attaching Nurse to Warrington in Leeds.

Catterall is no.2 with the WBO in line for Crawfords title. I would fight either in the UK or US vs. Ashley Theophane, it would be entertaining and give him some experience and exposure to the US market. Jose Zepeda and Darleys Perez are now both campaigning at SLW and have both travelled to Manchester before.

Nurse should go for the EBU Title vs. the winner of Yigit/Daws...

Nurse vs Catterall and Ohara vs Davies Jr shouldn't be too difficult to make. Both evenly matched at this stage imo.

Quite enjoyed Davies Junior last night and caught the ITV show whilst channel hopping.

He's clearly a work in progress and being put in with a few rugged visitors to complete his education; but I liked the way he boxed.

Worked out early-on that the fancy switch-hitting was not working for him and that the Hungarian lad had a reasonable dig and a bit of ambition himself - so Davies went over to some very good pressure fighting and moving between head and body very smoothly I thought.

He looked very calm in there as well - not many punches wasted or lunging in either - and the shot that finished it really stung a pretty hard guy.
Also judged when Szabo was flagging and it was time to step-in just right.

Would like to see more of Davies Jr - good engine, strong following and actually a decent watch too.

I see Joe Hughes has stepped up to the plate and is fighting Tyrone Nurse 22nd of April.

He deserves MASSIVE respect for taking this. particularly after that gobsh!te Ohara Davies turned it down.

He was very competitive with Catterall (who also turned the fight down with Nurse think he left his trainer at the time )

Good solid pro Hughes.

Got a feeling Nurse will have to much for him though.

Chris Jenkins is another id like to see push on,I know hes prob behind these guys but I feel like he was unlucky in his last fight v phil sutcliffe.I thought he won it by a couple of rounds.Hes got a entertaining style if nothing else.

Taylor looks class, cant wait to see him truly tested.

I thought he clearly won by a couple aswell.

Taylor is by far the best, but you're right that there's some top matches to be made. Hopefully at least one of them leaves O'Hara on the deck in his place.
